I use the Rugged Ridge bags (link in first thread response.) I can easily move them around the garage or take them wherever is convenient to be out of the way (basement, back deck, etc.).
Putting it another way, when I lived 5 minutes away from AutoNation on Arapahoe, I chose to drive 30 minutes to take my jeep to Broadway. Hopefully they work out for you.
If you're asking about Autonation on Broadway, I've taken my jeeps there a few times over the years and always walked away happy. It's not my first choice only because of location, but they did good work at a good price.
More than happy to go with the non-dealer option, but then if I have an axle issue down the road the dealer can say they won't cover it under warranty. I had my rear axle replaced already and if not for the warranty it wouldn't have been cheap.
Every time I check in on this thread and re-gearing comes up, it reminds me that I should probably re-gear :headbang:. I'm sticking with 35's so no need for 5.13's for me but maybe 4.88's. I'd like to retain warranty so I tried my regular dealer (Littleton Autonation) but they won't do it.
I have their tail lights, not the bumper reverse lights that install in the bumper. But thanks for the advice as the reverse lights may be a future addition for me!
I have the Oracle tail lights sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. I've seen/heard the reverse light in those is nice and bright, too. Can't wait to check them out after installed.
My line of thinking, too. But if there's a driveline issue, the dealer has "an out" saying it was caused by the gears. Opening a can of worms I was hoping to avoid by having the dealership do the work. I've heard others have been able to do that, I just haven't called around to other dealerships...
Much appreciated, you've offered before I just haven't had the chance to be in your vicinity.
Only thing holding me back right now is warranty. I checked with one dealer and they won't do it, but if I can find a dealer to do it and cover it I'd feel better. I've already had one rear axle...
FWIW, I have 35's with 4.10 gears and auto and am thinking about going to 4.88's, but only because I tow a trailer with it and it would be nice to get another gear (or half a gear) back. When I'm just driving around or wheeling, I think the 4.10's are fine. That said, I haven't driven a JT with...
Leveling it would be good. Another thought would be to get a weight distribution hitch to help move some of that weight to the front axle. I use Anderson but there are many options.
You don't need level ground to check for squat... Measure each wheel from hub to fender, then hook up your...
It's been a few years since I was there, but from the video/pics it looks like you drove Telluride to Ouray on Imogene? What day of the week did you do that? Wondering if it was a weekday or weekend being packed.
I've been trying to clear out my day but it ain't gonna happen this time, one pesky appointment I can't get rid of! One of these group runs will work out at some point.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the new gears once you form an opinion. I'm starting to look into an upgrade myself.
A new axle was the result for me, as well. I realized I never posted back with my result.
This is making me think more about an extended warranty in case it happens again.
