When I graduated HS in 70 I got a 69 Mustang Boss 302 with a factory 8 track. I bought a 74 CJ 5 new while I was in the army it had a 8 track. My wife's 06TJ has a CD as does my 09 F250. Sill have a ton of CDs, I wish I had one on my JT.
If that F250 had a converter drain plug it would be wonderful. Not having your level of experience I would never think of trying to install one. I try to know my limits, on ATs dropping the pan replacing filter and fluid it about it.
I plain on servicing the transmission on my JT at 50-60 K. It may be over kill but if it makes me feel better its all good. That said I have a 03 F250 servicing the trans every 30K after seeing that "service" only replaced 6 quarts of fluid and the truck has a drain plug on the trans I have at...
My Gladiator replaced my 03 F250 as my daily driver. 250 had 8 miles on it when I bought it and currently had 285,000. I hope to get that service out of my Gladiator.;) That said my wife still drives her 05 TJ as her daily driver.
I have a F250, once several years ago I ran the truck to 0 miles to empty and 5 miles past to get to a station. It still had around 2 1/2 gallons left. That said in the day I had a 78 CJ7 that ran out between 1/4 and empty. Always kept a 5 gallon gas can in the CJ7.
My favorite would be my 74 CJ 5 V8 3 speed, loved it drove it everywhere, of course in the late 70s I was younger and bounced back better than I do in my late 60s. Drove it to Key West with only a bikini top. Wife got so sun burned had to stay off work for a week. A great trip.
The freedom panels are a little more trouble than a sun roof, however with the removable hard top a sun roof could cause problems. I normally place them in the back seat, I use a towel or a jacket to separate them to prevent scratches. I am 68 and it is not too much trouble after you have done...
On the plus side the Trace is a nice trip even when it rains. On a better note you were in your JT, my last trace trip I was on my Harley and it rained the whole trip. The older I get the more I enjoy my comfort.
Depends on your definition of wheeling, riding on the beach, surf fishing yea, trails and fire lanes while hunting yep, rock crawling no, but I'm in FL so I am limited in my choices.
I don't lease as I normally keep vehicles long term. My 03 F250 and my wife's 05 TJ are examples. A friend of mine leased a Dodge PU in the late 80s one day he told me he had to turn in the lease that weekend. Monday he was still in the truck. When I ask what happened he said 5,000 to buy 9,000...
