I have been in earthmoving for 20 years and my father was a truck diesel mechanic. I am very familiar with long block engines.
What pisses me off about this is that i demanded that they NOT USE A LONG BLOCK ENGINE for this replacement given the issues with the external parts on the old one...
Wait...there's more. I have another update as of about 2 hours ago.
After being unable to bleed the cooling system, the mechanics put a new thermostat in the Gladiator and attempted to fil the cooling system and run the engine. Temperature went through the roof again (remembering this is brand...
Castor and change out the stock steering dampener.
Mines only got a 2" lift, 33x12.5s with wide rim offsets and its a real handful to keep straight at high speed sometimes. I'll be making some changes to mine for sure so I can only imagine what yours is like.
Actually there is...
Stellantis have recalled over 250,000 cars this year, replaced their COO AND CFO, and the CE is leaving early in 2026.
The business is in big trouble and it's clearly because of very stupid decision making at the top down.
The issues individuals are having with Jeeps is...
Another update...its been 3 weeks since the Gladiator broke down...I am still without a vehicle.
Called into the service centre yesterday to find the bonnet still up, a new engine in, but not running.
The problem with the new engine install is the sevice center are unable to bleed the cooling...
Second time in 6 months.
First time was a new transmission
This time its a new engine
It was booked in for an engine replacement, however, it didn't make it back to the dealership. It appears to have blown a head gasket (or cracked a head). This issue wasn't the reason for the engine...
Latest update on the Gladiator...
I'm on my way from Sydney to Melbourne to drop it to dealership for new engine to be installed.
It's a 9 hour journey.
3 hours into the trip, I'm currently broken down on the side of the road with what i am certain is a blown headgasket. Coolant temp went...
My wife and I own 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon (purchased new) and 2019 200 series v8 Landcruiser VX (purchased at 42,000km).

My Gladiator at rest looking fabulous and, winching a poor soul who didn't "buy a jeep" out of a spot of bother on the back side of a sand dune !:giggle:
OK latest update since last post about the car.
New engine is supposed to be installed soon (a week or two). I am driving the car until they are ready to install engine.
Drove Melbourne to Sydney...got halfway, engine oil leak, then engine error code (this is straight after a second oil cooler...
Here in Australia at least, recently there's been a $20k price drop on some models.
My 2022 Gladiator is now worth $20k less and that means my car loan repayment is way out of whack in that my insured market value in the event of a writeoff is such that im out of pocket the difference by $20k...
As i said, we have a 200 series landcruiser with V8 diesel...a weapon of a vehicle (Especially for towing). Any pentastaf fan here who thinks they tow well hasn't driven a v8 diesel. Also, my point about towing was a comparison between mine towing a trailer with ride on mower and a hilux pulling...
As some of you know, i purchased a new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon at the end of October 2022.
It came already fitted out with a 2" lift kit and 33" x 12.5 Yokahama mud terrain tyres on 21" rims
I had a bullbar, towbar and 13,000 pound Warn winch fitted as part of the deal
Up to the first service...
Hi guys an update...
My 2nd transmission (the one for this O.P which got water in it) was replaced under warranty.
The car was away getting replacement transmission for almost 2 months.
I picked the car up 3 weeks ago...and sadly, less than 3,000km later...
its pissing oil out of the bell...
Well i have a similar story to others here...
CAVEAT...i do quite a few km each year. After 12 months the car had 38,000km on it (that's important for calendar year timing of the events below as they all happened within the first year of owning the car)
At 12k service, the very next morning...
I'm going different to.everyone else of this problem...
1. Buy yourself a scanner tool to connect to the odb port on the car. I purchased a Kinchrome one and it works great for diagnostics. Image of the one i purchased which works great
2. Its probably done an O2 sensor on the catalytic...
50,000 km for brake pads is about normal for work vehicles. Remember I also tow a 2.2 ton trailer with this vehicle on a regular basis as I also have a scissor lift I use for work.
The reason why the brakes have worn this quickly is also because only one pad on each disk is doing on the...
that's ok i accept your point on this. What i can say is that in the image on my avatar, yes it is my Jeep in the photo, however, i am not the one driving it...my son is. Im the one who took the photo.
The reason why the bow wave appears so high is because the water is actually quite shallow...
my avatar photo isnt photoshopped...why would i photoshop my own car driving through a mudhole that is used regularly by dozens, if not hundreds of 4wders each year?
The wombat state forest area is one of the most well known 4wd areas in the state with heaps of mudholes a heck of a lot worse...
