I wasnt suggesting replacing inner axle seals with these...the point was, if i add these on the outer tubes (in addition to the existing factory setup), these would reduce the amount of muddy sediment that gets into the inner seals and causes them to prematurely fail.
Muddy water acts like a...
I was kinda hoping for an added layer of protection cause I've done an inner rhs front axle seal and it's about 6-8 hours work for me to pull the diff center out and replace them.
I just figured it would be a lot easier to pull and axle and change this type of aftermarket modification?
You got that right. If it includes install I'd be more than happy, however, this was not from service department, it was spare parts...my understanding is that was supply only.
Hi guys,
My Gladiator has done a front axle seal on rhs after 60,000km (40,000 miles).
I noticed online you can buy greasable axle seals for Jk's...is there something similar for 2022 JT Rubicons with with pentastar v6 engine like in the image below?
Oh also, mine is the Australian version...
The Jeep dealerhsip spare parts department want $800 just for the 2 seals...not the install work.
As i said, they want $500 AUD for rhs seal and $300 AUD for lhs seal.
I've looked online and it seems that Dana 44 M210 front axle seals are about $50 AUD...so where does the dealership get $800...
does anyone know what the retail cost is for the two front axle seals?
Ive just rang mmy local jeep dealership and they are quoting me $800 AUD ($534 USD) for the two front LHS($300 AUD) and RHS($500 AUD) seals!
That seems outrageously expensive for two seals.
The pepblem is that there is nothing worse than some idiot naysayer who's main purpose is to blame the user...that is what you have done and I'm.sick of it.
Users don't come on these forums so you can grandstand about your apparent mechanical knowledge...especially when the individuals you are...
OK will do that when I get back home in a few days.
The car has spent so much time sitting this year, im kinda not surprised its done a seal. Lots of muddy water leaves crap near that seal.
Would be good if there was a way of easily flushing inner axle near that seal after 4wding in mud.
On my end all of the issues have been above board.
All of the issues with the car are legitimate and none of it has been caused by abuse.
The only parts replaced on the Gladiator that were not warranty related are:
1. Rhs front cv rubber boot (a stick went through this out 4wding). This was...
Ah shit...one day out driving and I go out this morning to find this. The front rhs wheel was just touching the wheelie bin wheel when i parked it last night.
the dealership just changed the oils in both front and rear diffs...could it be they overfilled them and/or its blown a seal?
I've had...
Do you know how often race engines are rebuilt?
Do you know why they are rebuilt so often?
Because they get the shit flogged out of them!
You may have been a mechanic, however you clearly don't know what you are talking about so I seriously question your mechanical knowledge and skill.
Btw...
Pricing isn't going to fix anything...the problem is rather bigger than that...
It's value for money.
Jeep need to face the reality that it's vehicles must address the concerns of the competition.
One cannot just blindly follow down an ancient pathway when everyone.else has recognised the...
I already explained the carbon buildup...it was PCV failure. What you did not read was that it took the original dealership 8 months to diagnose and replace it (in that time my car did 20,000km with a really bad presentation issue)
Low RPM loading on an automatic??? (I'm sorry but how do you...
I finally got my Gladiator back after the new engine was installed.
Now it's:
1. quiet when its starts...no more timing chain rattle
2. Drives like a dream...auto downshifts straight away, no more loading engine up then dropping back 3 gears and reving its head off, like it used too.
I can't...
My wife and I also own a 6 cylinder 105 series and a V8 200 series Landcruiser.
Whilst reliability of the 200 is way superior to the Jeep, I wouldnt say its a better 4wd. 200's setup for touring are renowned for doing front left CV's and easier to do panel damage on trails. I like the narrow...
That is a really interesting point/question.
After I left Sydney the car travelled about 2 hours before the temperature suddenly went through the roof...there was absolutely zero warning
there had been no unusual predetonation I could hear, engine appeared normal and had been travelling...
