Yes. The OEM screen has a couple of Torx screws holding it into place that when removed, removes just the center section of the screen. BOLT includes their screen that has a cutout for the locking mechanism
Installed a BOLT hood lock that works with my OEM key. Small mod that gives me a little more peace of mind. Kudos to BOLT for the ingenuity. Super easy install.
Harbor Freight brand hand riveter worked great for the 1/4" rivets.
Might be a pain to set up and break down every night but at least youll get a good nights sleep. Throw in a M18 Milwaukee jobsite fan and you'll be sleeping like a king
I've yet to receive the cam but upon further digging you are correct. The cam will record only when it detects motion. Apparently there are two different types of cables that can be purchased to supply the camera with power while the truck is off. The first (the one I bought), taps to the fuse...
I've given up hope of keeping anything of worth under there. In the case of a flat and a few other niche scenarios, I'll just have to lift the baby seat.
I just purchased a dash cam that records even while the truck is powered off (via an always powered AUX fuse) based on neighborhood theft rising. It seems like it's a recipe for disaster though with this leech of an AUX battery.
The camera has a voltage monitor that'll prevent the battery from...
Your overnight pondering led you to a mistaken conclusion. I don't think anyone is risking their engines waiting an extra 2.5k miles to change their oil. I just don't think doing it at 5k is a waste either considering the process is simple and inexpensive. It's an interval that covers all types...
A few weeks ago I installed a Smittybilt roof rack so I could throw all my crap on the roof and use the truck bed as a bed.
Finally got a chance to use the tent/mattress.
$270 for rack, $230 for mattress, $200 for tent.... Significantly cheaper (and spacier) than a rooftop tent
I didn't use stall properly. I'm assuming it gets stuck in neutral which leads to the stopping/revving. Only thing throwing me off is the fact the 4-lo indicator was lit up like it was successfully geared in. Will record next time
Sorry if wasnt clear. Am most definitely shifting into neutral before trying to shift the transfer case. I give a little gas in Drive to get a roll, shift into neutral and then attempt the transfer case shift. Have done it on pavement to get feel for shift without issue. Maybe I'll record...
Yup, auto. Will come to a stop while in drive and will rev. Am wondering if I havent shifted all the way through like others are suggesting although this last time I gave it some pretty good force and had the indicator light on for 4lo
