So, I don't know whether there is a better place for this, but I haven't seen one. Please feel free to point me to it or move my question:
I'm currently thinking on how to best utilize the water tank in the ACCC for my "livable interior build". I do not have a gravity outlet installed, since I...
To keep it in vain of the thread re ACCC and since we have a Trelino Classic medium sized as well, we are planning on putting it in the same place as you, but might plan ahead for ventilation to the outside. We do have a privacy tent, but it's just inconvenient to use that way. The Trelino might...
Thanks! We've studied the website, too. We have this one (website in German):
https://www.biotoi.de/BioToi-RL-mit-Ruehrwerk-und-Luefter/B001
in a Land Cruiser with FiftyTen cabin in Europe. Wanted to get one here for the ACCC to, since we know it works, but they don't ship to the US. We could...
Today's modification here was to remove the gas strut at the rear door and install an 813 Fabrication bracket to stop the door.
We wanted to be able to just leave it...
If you "really test it", it would be great to hear your impression. We have one too, but the truck just isn't in a state for a trip right now. Would be interesting to know whether it works without a fan venting to the outside. We have a different composting toilet in a camper in Europe, which...
Today's modification here was to remove the gas strut at the rear door and install an 813 Fabrication bracket to stop the door.
We wanted to be able to just leave it slightly ajar, and with the gas strut forcing it open, this wasn't possible. So, for now, we removed it. Maybe we find a...
I get that I sound very definitive here and it is what I strongly believe is happening, although I have no doubt, that sheer incompentence in communication between departments could contribute just as much. I have seen this more than I wanted in the past – precise data, which was available in...
While this might explain a small error margin, there is no reason why the computer could not be more accurate. It uses the exact same odometer value I’m using (which is surprisingly precise from what I found out by comparing with GPS on a 100km straight stretch of I5). Modern cars have...
Rear Storage Platform
Slow progress today. We took the rear trim in the truck cabin out – what a pain in the butt. Broke it since the stupid one-time clips at the top are basically really just that: one time in, never out clips. I really want to meet the a-hole who designed these ... long story...
I broke mine to the point that it will go into the trash tomorrow. I tried not to, but once it broke to the point of being unusable, I just didn't care anymore. Cheap shit.
I just removed the rear trim and subwoofer as well (to make space for a storage platform). This has to be THE WORST clip mechanism ever invented. They are basically meant to be pressed in once and never removed.
I broke three of the clamps, but one actually took a whole chunk out of the trim...
Update on the GP Factor Redarc System
I had another chat with AJ, owner of GP Factor, regarding the challenges I had with my unit and can definitely say: the GP Factor customer service is absolutely outstanding. While I have the system installed now, GP Factor is working on improvements and I'm...
That's pretty impressive – is that what the onboard computer shows or calculated? We are on the OEM 33" Falken Wildpeak MT, so much smaller tires.
Here's real data (in metric), 10.14 average is about 23.2mpg.
Also, for some reason, it might be elevation changes, wind, crappier diesel...
Out of curiosity, what are you guys seeing regarding fuel consumption?
We have a '23 EcoDiesel with the ACCC installed (no interior yet) and on a recent 2500 mile roadtrip (with short stints on fireroads to find camp spots), we got just over 23mpg.
Still thinking of getting a roof rack with...
In case you're interested, we've tracked our last trip up to Canada and back and here are some interesting results:
The truck's onboard computer claimed better fuel consumption than the average of 10.14 L/100km (~23.2mpg), but that's pretty normal. The computer seems to be around 6 to 7% off...
Thanks for the offer, really appreciate it!
Regarding the bracket, I'm undecided what I want to do there. I was thinking of actually moving the inside handle to the outside c-track above the door. I'm often missing something to hold on to, when I'm closing the tent or dealing with the awning...
So, a small progress report might be in order.
Alu-Cab Canopy Camper
So far, I really like the ACCC. It's what I hoped it would be. We've got the version with right side awning (more on that later) and shower tent as well as the water tank, so probably on the heavier side of an empty ACCC...
Some camping over the last few days, the Froli system under the mattress really worked out well. The rest was super improvised, but stuff is slowly coming together.
