Getting a little impatient waiting on Axles. I wanted to see what the wheels/tires looked like on a Jeep.
Pictures don’t show how wide these are compared to the 40x13.5 we normally run on the Sarge green JLU.
We went full Road Armor all the way around and decided to match the bed rack. Looking back on it, I regret the decision. The JCR rack weighed less than half the RA rack, and the price was much more appealing. About the only reason I would go back to Road Armor is if I needed height...
17” KMC Grenade Crawl came back from powder coat today. Really happy with the way the prismatic “brassy gold” turned out.
Hopefully I have some spare time this week to mount the tires and the axles show up soon so I can really get to work.
Some new pics a buddy of mine took with the Motobilt bumpers. My Dynatrac axles, and Rock Krawler long arm are set to ship next week so so expect some big changes
Installed a Motobilt Hammer series rear bumper on the JT. Really love how they designed it to work with the factory license plate lights. We modified the factory Rubicon bed sliders to work with the combination.
My Jeep has come back down to reality since I first installed the 37s. I’m still averaging 22-23mpg with a very heavy wheel/tire combo, but I can’t get anywhere near the 28mpg I managed that first trip home. Some of it could be the throttle booster I installed, or just me not really trying...
I haven't decided just yet. We ordered my wife a 4XE Wrangler with plastic bumpers with the idea that it will be getting the steel set I have at the shop(I have a JL rear sitting here to match.)
Once my Motobilt set goes on we will look at lightweight bumper options for hers and make a decision.
Some minor changes/upgrades while I'm waiting for my axles to arrive.
Dynatrac informed us our axles should ship withing 1-2 weeks so hopefully we have some major changes then.
Downsized back to the 37" BFG & Spyderlocks, but painted the rings black for a little contrast. Installed a...
Not sure about the banks gauges but I use it with my Tazer. It goes inline with the electronic throttle harness and alters that signal, so I don't see why it would interfere.
I haven't tried a pedal commander, but they appear to perform the same function. For the $120 shipped it was something worth trying. They are not diesel specific, my buddy that suggested it had it on his 3.6l JK(His would not work on mine, but the JL/JT specific model works across the lineup)
A buddy of mine insisted I try a Hike-It throttle “booster.” They had a sale and I figured why not as I’m getting bored waiting on axles and related parts.
I didn’t expect much as I know it doesn’t really give me any more power, but wow what a difference it makes in daily driving feel.
I had...
I installed a Hike-It throttle booster today and can say it made a dramatic improvement in performance “feel.” I know pushing the throttle more would essentially give you the same results as not having it but wow what a difference in normal daily driving “feel.”
I always felt like there was a...
I think there are too many variables like axle width/position, wheel offset, lift height etc. to have a solid answer to that question. We ordered 72.5" wide axles and will be sticking with a fairly agressive offset(-38) with the 43x15's. Once all the components arrive I'm happy to take some...
