  1. DV8 factory LED look alike stopped working after 2.5 mos, factory halogen works, any advice?

LEDs are quite sensitive to voltages. And as they age, their voltage requirements can change. Try plugging the suspect headlight into the other side and see what happens. I’d also recommend that you tell the JT that it has LED headlights, as that will change how the headlights work. Kevin
  2. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Well… I did something I said I wasn’t going to do… I put on bigger tires! I went from the stock 245/75-17 to 255/70-18, thus gaining a half inch. ? Kevin
  3. Speedometer question

Check with @DC3 At one point he had a JScan (IIRC) that he'd loan out. All you had to do was buy the license. Worth looking into... Kevin
  4. OEM Speaker POLARITY (8.4" Alpine System)

Using a multimeter to test audio signal polarity is pretty much useless, as audio is an AC, not DC signal. The whole idea of speaker polarity is to make sure the sound waves are in phase. Running speakers out of phase will cause unusual nulls in the sound field. As to your main question, I...
  5. Auto stop disable

If I do a relatively long trip, say 1,000 miles, and towards the end of that trip I do a long (20 miles) 10mpg pull (like up a mountain pass,) the Average MPG on the Fuel Economy screen will start to drop, whereas the fuel economy on, say, Trip A, won't move, as I would expect for some (20)...
  6. Auto stop disable

That MPG Average isn’t the one to use: it’s a rolling average calculated over the previous 100 miles or so. You’ll want to use the number from the Trip Odometer page. Kevin

  8. Auto stop disable

I drove a mid-teens F150 with ESS, and I found it dangerous: it took 2-3 seconds to get ready to move, which is huge when you’re pulling into traffic from a stop sign. My wife doesn’t like the feature on her ā€˜15 BMW, because it has a tendency to roll backwards (if on an incline) when she takes...
  9. Auto stop disable

Really? Another ESS thread? The components are designed to handle the extra start cycles. It reduces emissions. It saves fuel. And, by itself, it’s not the cause of the auxiliary battery failure. Kevin

  11. So she turns on the headlights, the dash lighting goes out, WTF...............

Huh? ? Both dials do not control the instrument lights. And neither one controls those lights with the headlights off. Sounds like someone still has the light switch in the wrong position. Kevin
  12. 5 light light bar wiring

IF it was 25A, yes. But, he’s looking at 22A, which was rounded up from a number derived using 12V. A more accurate voltage would be 13.5, which, based on his stated lamp wattage, gives under 20A. A 12 gauge wire will be fine. Kevin
  13. 5 light light bar wiring

A 12 gauge wire will be fine. Kevin
  14. āš”ļø Mopar Teases New Jeep and RAM Concepts Ahead of 2022 SEMA Debut

I can tell you it's certainly a rush to take a 2022 Tesla Model X Plaid, at over 6,000lbs., and get up to 160mph in ½ mile! Kevin
  15. Aux switch wire gauge

Keep in mind that smaller gauge number means a bigger wire. Kevin
  16. Key fob has left the vehicle

Yup. Most vehicles with an, "Electronic Key," will do that. But it won't restart if turned off. I had my local Mercedes dealer tell me he had a customer that left his fob in Spokane, and drove to California without it. He just didn't turn off the motor. Kevin
  17. Hesitation to start and whining/grinding

Does the Pentastar use a gear reduction starter? Kevin
  18. Aux switch wire gauge

You don't have to worry about any wiring from the battery to the switch: it's already wired to provide 40A. And each lamp will only draw about 4A (based on 5 lights at 250W total,) so you can wire the lights with 14ga. (each light) or 12ga. (for a pair.) If you want to centralize a terminal...
  19. Which Gauge Wire for Negative Ground Block

So you want to run a short wire from the ground stud to a terminal block, and attach the individual grounds to the block? For a short run, a #12 wire would be sufficient, especially since you'll rarely submit it to a full load. Kevin
