I use an Anker cooler that has (2) 100a/h onboard batteries. It is VERY efficient. On longer trips, if needed, I simply use a 12v cable to run the cooler. Once at my destination a 100w panel recharges the cooler batteries.
I came from a 1/2 ton Silverado with the 3.0 diesel. I loved that truck but the 10 speed transmission was a piece of junk. I got the Gladiator for the main purpose of pulling an overland trailer I had built for use during my retirement which starts in February. When this is no longer...
Laughing so hard this morning my hot coffee spewed from my nostrils. Seems like my coffee mug should come with a warning or something. Thanks for sharing your theory, it's spot on. And thanks for the laugh.
Sorry for the delayed response! Maximus-3. They were a sponsor at one time not sure they still are but they do have a website. Listed under their winch accessories.
Here's another to tease you with. We've come across all kinds of interesting things on our many trips out there. Even better is watching FA-18's and helo's practice with live munitions.
I replaced my plastic OEM front bumper with a steel OEM bumper on my Rubicon and it was fairly straight forward. I would recommend having a couple different lengths of socket extensions as well as a swivel adapter to help getting a couple of the harder to reach nuts on and off. I used a Grimm...
Installed one of these about a year ago. Temps dropped about 15 degrees and now seldom exceed 190 degrees. I added this because I pull an overland trailer on the highway and I believe this will add a little bit of life to the tranny. I also installed the PPE oil pan and saw similar results.
I'll take it. It will sure help my Firecracker Red JT not stand out in the desert near the military bombing range we camp by. If you'll PM me with an address I can send you some shipping funds.
I went with the Smittybilt X2O G3 over the HF Badlands I had been considering. For $50 more I got a smaller (albeit heavier 67lbs vs 76lbs) winch, 18 additional feet of line and a better warranty IMHO. Plus I just didn't care for the giant brand signage on the HF but that's just me. Fit my OEM...
There is a picture of a completed vehicle in the registration link. It's pretty bad IMHO. I would think this mod would kill any chance of a resale. Just buy a small teardrop trailer.
Might look at a Smittybilt X2O Gen 3. Just installed on my OEM bumper and there was plenty of room and no modifications were needed. They are about the price of a HF Badlands but smaller and slightly heavier. They also have a little more line on the spool.
