LOL . .. and we people with Jeeps on 20s make fun of Jeeps on 35s+, uber-off-road tires as they struggle to go on a straight line on the freeway. (J/K I have a set of each, depending on the occasion ;) )
. . . or having to torque it to 20 lb-ft every time. I had one of those valves on an Mazda RX-8. That car had a rotary engine, which according an ancient oil legend, it could not take synthetic oil. Plus the engine consumed oil by design and I put a lot of miles on it. So I was having to change...
Sounds good. I have to replace the gasket every time in my other vehicle, but the oil filter comes with a gasket + an o-ring, so it makes it convenient. - Thanks
Does the washer/gasket for the oil pan plug need to be replaced?
Any advantage to using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum over plain Platinum? They cost about the same, just not sure if it would make any difference.
When I bought my HA, I really wanted Sting-Gary, but they didn't offer it in the HA, so I got Granite Crystal instead. This year they have SG, and they dropped GC in the HA. So now I think GC is special and want to keep it . Plus, my JT still smells like new inside with less than 2K miles...
I know, I was just joking. Thanks for the tips though. BTW, I also update the Carfax profile of my vehicles when I do my own maintenance. I assume it shows up if someone pulls up the Carfax report, but I've never actually checked.
I just looked at some pretty awful reviews of my dealership's service department. So, I think I'm just going to do it myself. I'll look at the oil weight requirements in the manual, but do you have any recommendations on oil and filter brands?
Thank you everyone for your replies. The JT's oil is getting changed at the one-year mark by popular demand and because I love my JT, so it deserves that and more ;)
Now I need to decide if I want the dealership to change the oil (for free), or if I rather do it myself. They were great to deal...
Oh, I misread your title. I thought you've only disappointment with the JK. But it looks as if you only have one disappointment, which is completely different. I don't tow, so I really like that 8-speed tranny.
I have not been able to drive my 3.6 JT that much since I bought it new, eleven months ago. Oil life shows at 80%. Mileage is less than 2K. Should I just wait until it really needs it or change it at the one-year mark?
