Not sure what sort of rebates they have going this month, but the affiliate program should be a constant 1% below invoice, if your company participates. Everyone was great to deal with at that place, but my salesperson was Ivan Burazer: [email protected]. They only downside was that their...
Still. That AZ dealership you mentioned has some pretty amazing discounts on Gladiators. My local dealers would never, ever be willing to match those prices. Well, at least under the current state of affairs.
In 2020/2021, you are correct. Prior to that, and once you remove the "chip shortage" etc. the Tacoma depreciates the least according to various sources that track that stuff. The Wrangler is up there too.
Yea, in general, nothing is going to touch the resale value of a Tacoma. I got $4K over what I paid for my 2-year old Taco. They sold it in 3 days for $5K over what they gave me (e.g. $9K over what I'd paid for it).
You are out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. However, the powertrain warranty goes to 60,000 miles and I'm pretty sure the axles are part of the powertrain. Not sure if the powertrain warranty would be voided by your mods though.
I owned a 3rd gen automatic Tacoma, 100% OEM. I tried to commute in it, and made it 2 weeks, then it had to be "promoted" to a weekend toy.
Re-gearing, throttle re-programing, etc., I've heard it all. You can spend any sort of cash to make any vehicle perfect, but 1) I risk voiding the...
Oh, sorry for the confusion. I was replying to the OP regarding his former Toyota Tacoma. The 2nd gen Tacoma had a 4.0 engine with a good amount of low-end torque. The 3rd gen has a 3.5, which feels less torquey at the low-end and mid-range. The 3rd gen's Tacoma's six-speed transmission is . . ...
From the manual:
"While operating on gasoline with the required octane number, hearing a light knocking sound from the engine is not a cause for concern. However, if the engine is heard making a heavy knocking sound, see an authorized dealer immediately."
I'm one of those Tacoma defectors. I owned one too, sold it and was in the market for a second one, but I felt as if I was expected to beg and kiss some dealership a__ to buy one. Not my thing.
I liked my Tacoma, but I like the Jeep about 3x better. No comparison.
Similar to the OP, the JT is only my second American branded vehicle, out of many. I'm learning from all these stories, and hoping I never have to use that knowledge.
I also have seen issues similar to the OP's, but where eventually it turns out that the JT owner did a modification that ended...
"TRUTH". This is where it gets iffy. You and I have no idea who the OP is. He may very well be a Jeep customer who got a raw deal, or he may be a competitor across town with an agenda. Especially when you factor in the OP joining this forum 2 days ago. Who knows...
So, question on front suspension: If I wanted to rip through the wood slats on a rope bridge, would I need to upgrade the skid plates? Or would adding serrated blades to the OEM ones be enough?
I'm leaning towards serrated blades, because I can also use them to cut some wood logs. E.g. using a...
Ironically, as soon as my wife set foot on the Rubicon that we took out on a test drive, she fell in love with the Gladiator. The following day, she offered to help pay for it, if we went back to the dealership and bought one ? (what !?!?). Once she saw the interior in the HA the following day...
