@ShadowsPapa or others Did you need to get rivnuts with this bumper? was watching the trail recon video where they mounted a mopar steel bumper and they needed some brackets off the steel bumper that needed rivnuts to mount. I am wondering if I should get the rivnuts and maybe the brackets...
Same they are firmer for sure but the ride is much better. I didn't like the stock soft ride at all. Also think about something for the rear. With my max toe sport the leveling fronts brought the nose up a good amount. On the rubicons it will sit a bit nose high on the sports its a carolina...
I worried about the strength of the select track till the 392 came out with it as stock. Here was my thread on it wirh some information.
having it for 6 months its been great. Much less worry than going back in and out of 4hi depending on road conditions. Just put it in 4auto and drive...
Then leave it in a parking lot during the work day that doesnt have charging or heat. Or the ski slope. You may have enough battery left or you may not. Where with a gas car you know if you have gas you are going to be able to drive for the most part.
I am sure we will get there at some...
One issue is people living in apartments. EV works fine for suburban homes but retrofitting parking spaces in apartments complexes will be a lot of work. Charging in off peak hours also is going to mitigate the load on the grid. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds gas vehicles are...
Sure but really there is nothing to it. Take the top shock bolt out put the bolt through the strap eye. Bolt back together. Same with the bottom. You are just using the stock shock bolts with the strap in between the bolt head and the shock mount. If you want to be fancy put a loop of bike inner...
Yea its hard to be perfect with the heights because of all of those factors. Lighter bed/loaded bed the springs settling. But yeah the 1.5’s should give you 2.5 all around on the sport. I think i put my settled heights in this thread somewhere.
i did the front bar and will do the clayton rear...
Crappy pro comps from summit. Exp-5262. They are really flimsy so I don’t totally recommend but I don’t think they are really doing much. They are attached parallel to the shock just running eye bolt to eye bolt on the outside. I was going to do something custom but this was super easy and...
Yes no spacer. It is weird. I think it is due to the body lines sometimes it looks level sometimes a little nose high and sometimes a little rake. I will probably put the spacer back in at some point. The clayton 2.5" triple rate rears have a 21.5" Free OAL They should give you and inch over...
I’ll get some better pics but these are with 35x10.5 kendas so I didn't have to toss my stock rims. I find this is really a great height for every day. It still has a bunch of clearance but my kids don't have too much trouble getting in an out without steps.
Bilstein b8 5160's
I used the bilstien b8 5160's for the rear. They are pretty cool because they have a stock collapsed length (some of the lift shocks without remote reservoirs don't) but can be used for 3-4.5" lift. So you have a lot of range to choose a spring. You don't have to mess with bump stops because...
No you are engaging the locker with a switch the ecu won't have any control over it. They are talking about stock lockers and wiring.
I wonder if you can shut off the aux switches completely with a tazer. Just disable it until you need it.
Thats what I am going to do with mine. I wanted the LSD in the back for snow driving. Much perfer that than an open diff. Will go with an ARB and RCV's up front when the time comes. and if I really feel like I need a rear locker I will address that down the road.
Looks Great!! Nice work. Yeah the suspension stuff is pretty easy. Just have to make sure you tighten stuff under weight instead of hanging.
I bet it rides a lot better with the clayton springs
I have the rears need to add the fronts soon. Stiffer than stock but I like the way it rides. No wallowing much more controlled over the stock mac towe stuff.
I have an assym 10k two post and it is awesome but wish I had room for a 4 post. I have kicked around putting one in the yard but yeah I don't think thats going to fly lol. I don't like putting my dually on the two post. I guess I have to get used to it but putting full sized stuff to the moon...
Run a separate battery for sure. I have a second battery in the front of the bed. I run this kisae charger. https://www.donrowe.com/KISAE-DMT1230-Abso-30A-DC-DC-Battery-Charger-p/dmt1230.htm because it was cheap.
I would look at the redarc with the shore power option. So you could plug it in...
