Unfortunately, we don't have that information. Nor do we know for sure what oil they were using. We just know that Stellantis changed the oil spec due to deposits forming in the turbo.
We've been told by insiders that VM Motori was putting some of their test mules in boats since that was...
In short, Stellantis doesn't seem to think that Rotella T6 can handle the high temperatures/pressures at the turbo. Back when the Gen 3 EcoDiesel was new, they pulled a turbo off a test mule. Below is the image. They took those photos and put them into a MasterTech video to show dealer techs...
My 2015 Ram Ecodiesel takes 10.5 quarts from the factory, but I added a deep oil pan, so it now takes about 11.5 quarts.
I would definitely buy more Rotella T6 if you can find it. The word is getting out, so people are buying in bulk. Shell has already told Costco and Walmart that they will...
I've been preaching the charger/maintainer/desulfator for a long time. People on this forum struggle to believe me when I say the factory batteries (main and auxiliary) will last 8+ years if they are maintained. Obviously, my 2023 Gladiator is only 2.5 years old, so I don't have a lot of...
There's quite a few of us Ram EcoDiesel guys running Odyssey. So far, I haven't heard any complaints. I had my 2015 EcoDiesel in the body shop for 4.5 months and the battery held up great despite the truck being started and moved a lot without any charging or maintaining.
I wonder if the...
I've heard experts say that BatteryMINDer is about the best you can get for maintaining and desulfating batteries. I got 8 years out of the factory battery on our 2015 Ram EcoDiesel. I only replaced it with an Odyssey because the OE battery was 8 years old and we drive in very remote places...
There's an oil shortage coming, so I'd recommend having enough oil for three years. Prices are already going up, and most shelves will begin to be empty by June.
The EcoDiesel has its fair share of problems, but I'm glad it's not a finicky as the Pentastar. The diesel folks can run 0W-40, 5W-30, 10W-30, 5W-40, 10W-40, etc.
The EPA's definition of "full useful life" is 10 years or 120,000 miles for the Gen 2 EcoDiesel. The Gen 3 EcoDiesel is 10 years or 150,000 miles. GDE offers a delete tune (AfterLife Tune) for those vehicles.
Now that my 2015 is 10+ years old, I qualify for the AfterLife Tune.
It's a supplier issue that all manufacturers are dealing with. My truck was in the body shop for 4.5 months waiting on backordered parts. It's a good idea to buy extra filters, oil, and parts as you see fit.
Did anyone give you an ETA on the manifold?
If it makes you feel better, I paid...
I'm not encouraging anyone to cheat the system, but there are plenty of EcoDiesel owners that falsify the paperwork to get them into the tune sooner.
Just for the record, all three of my EcoDiesels are factory. I have the EPA Compliant Tune on the 2015 and will be switching to the GDE...
I'm glad to see that he finally started leaving the swirl valve function in place. A lot of people were switching to GDE, and the swirl valve function was one of those reasons.
Yes, as long as those parts didn't fail. I know a lot of people who buy the Dorman not knowing this, and they are now stuck with a Dorman intake with no parts to put in it. If you're deleted with the EOC/MrTuning tune, then you don't need the internals. GDE, however, still utilizes the...
He used a Dorman intake, but the Dorman doesn't have critical components found on the Mopar unit. The Dorman doesn't include the swirl valve actuator and the sensor.
