Interesting info, and I guess that makes sense. I am curious now about the MRTuning/EOC stage 2 and if it is removed. I will email Martin and ask.
I can tell you right now that the GDE AfterLife Tune is the best delete tune for the EcoDiesel. It's not even up for debate.

OK. I am already stage2 MRTuning and been pretty damn happy. So to each their own.
The GDE tune is safer, more efficient, and easier on the engine, but you can decide to make the switch at any point.

Gen 2 and Gen 3 are not the same. They have different part numbers and different components.

I think you might be thinking of the Banks intake. The Banks intake will fit both trucks, but it's for deleted applications.

Part number may be different but according to @Anderson he was successful in using a gen2 intake.

He used a Dorman intake, but the Dorman doesn't have critical components found on the Mopar unit. The Dorman doesn't include the swirl valve actuator and the sensor.

Ok, so pull them off the old intake?

Yes, as long as those parts didn't fail. I know a lot of people who buy the Dorman not knowing this, and they are now stuck with a Dorman intake with no parts to put in it. If you're deleted with the EOC/MrTuning tune, then you don't need the internals. GDE, however, still utilizes the internal parts to optimize both power and efficiency.

But those who are running stock tuning need the correct intake with the correct parts/sensors.

Wondering if MRTuning already accounts for that in the Stage2 tune. On the other side of the equation, is there any pro to retaining the swirl valves?
Info only- I just heard back from Martin at MRTuning. He echoed what has already been said. He keeps the intake swirl valve functionality intact on his tunes, as they help with engine performance and fuel efficiency.

Correct. If your swirl valve motor is functioning fine, and you don’t need to replace it, choose the Dorman. Just remember to use a 3rd gen MAP sensor.

This is probably true, and cheaper for those of us that already have his Stage 1. Just hate waiting for years and XX amount of miles to qualify for it.

Since this started for me with codes around the swirl valves, and I’m not deleting, I looking for the Mopar replacement kit. Just seems crazy that I can’t find a major component that’s known to need replacement on a truck that’s only 5 years old.

Letting off some steam I guess. Nothing to do but hunt and wait.

I'm glad to see that he finally started leaving the swirl valve function in place. A lot of people were switching to GDE, and the swirl valve function was one of those reasons.

I'm not encouraging anyone to cheat the system, but there are plenty of EcoDiesel owners that falsify the paperwork to get them into the tune sooner.

Just for the record, all three of my EcoDiesels are factory. I have the EPA Compliant Tune on the 2015 and will be switching to the GDE Afterlife tune by the end of the year. Just by years alone, my 2015 now qualifies for the Afterlife tune. I've got a long way to go for the 2020 and 2023.

It's a supplier issue that all manufacturers are dealing with. My truck was in the body shop for 4.5 months waiting on backordered parts. It's a good idea to buy extra filters, oil, and parts as you see fit.

Did anyone give you an ETA on the manifold?

If it makes you feel better, I paid $376.09 for a Mopar Jeep Gladiator brake controller on January 20th from AllMoparParts.com. The part was backordered at first, then it was redesigned, and I'm still waiting for an ETA. They told me that I'll keep my place in line since I've already paid. Apparently, there are hundreds of people waiting on this part and AllMoparParts is only expected to receive a certain amount each month.
