Just hit 63K miles on my 2022 JTRD, and overall, the rig has been flawless—no issues aside from the fuel pump recall and a recent battery change, which is expected at this stage. I absolutely love this thing!
Recently, I noticed a small axle seal leak, so I took the Jeep to the dealer. Turns out, there’s also a minor oil leak that requires removing the front engine cover. On top of that, the dealer found a stored code related to the intake manifold butterflies getting stuck. While I never had a CEL, they’ll be servicing it and replacing the manifold under warranty. (Still waiting to hear from them on the exact code.)
The oil leak and intake manifold replacement are covered under the 100K powertrain/emissions warranty, and the axle seal is covered by my Added Care+ plan. Fortunately, I managed to get the 7-year/unlimited mileage coverage when it was briefly available.
That said, I can’t help but feel it’s a bit early to be dealing with intake manifold issues—probably carbon buildup. Since I live in an emissions-controlled area and have Added Care+, what are the best ways to prevent the intake manifold from clogging up? I’ve been running Hot Shots intermittently and recently switched to Archoil. Any other recommendations?
