the manufacturer of the all aluminum banks intake has been discontinued.
Now that the EPA has rolled back emissions, I was hoping that Banks would bring it back to market or sell the design to a third party. It's probably wishful thinking, but......

If you agree to buy 1000 of them and be the distributor i bet they would dust off the molds used. Or give it enough time and a Chinese company will make a counterfeit version if they see demand.

I remember when Banks was selling them for $230. People were getting them for 10% - 15% off with discount codes. I thought about buying a few of their intakes, but the consensus was there wasn't a performance gain, at least not with the factory turbo. Now, I wouldn't mind having one for one of my engine builds. Even though there isn't a performance gain, it would be neat to have a customized look with a few performance parts.

So, even if Banks or an aftermarket company started selling them again, I probably wouldn't pay more than $230 for the intake.

What is your opinion of the AFE charge air tubes?
They are larger in diameter and not plastic so to me it is a worthy upgrade over stock even if it doesn't provide much hp gain. With an upgraded turbo I could see more benifit. They look good too! Just like the Banks aluminum intake manifold. Not plastic.

Just found one. Put it in my cart. Call tomorrow see if it's actually available. Not cheap but the less stock the higher the price (value). As it's discontinued it's not gonna get any cheaper.

I had one ordered, even talked to them, and then three weeks later my order was cancelled. So, I guess I missed out as I can't find it anywhere now. No worries, the only thing was to get rid of the swirl valves and EGR port. Losing the swirl valves will not be happening now. Best of luck on the one you found.

The swirl valves can be removed. That's what most people do who are tuned and deleted.

My order was canceled too.
Is their a link to the swirl valve removal? I don't think I need to bother with removal as they are INOP but I would like to read up on it,

Now I'm curious about dimensions of the manifold. H-L-W how big a piece of billeti would need. Or have a mold made for casting.

Im curious about the Swirl Valve delete too. Too bad it's not like the late 90s, and some company hasn't produce Phenolic Spacers for the intake runners yet.

FYI I don't have a diesel, but I worked for a shop who once told me "if you want something made from our CNC machine, if you supply the part you want cloned/made, and you buy the metal, I'll make as many as I can out of that block of metal. If I haven't made it before, I'm down to learn and make it." Not sure if that's still their mentality.

They make 700-1000hp SxS's and 3d print clutch covers for them, not sure if they'd be willing to help here. Larue Performance, they're run by two brothers, the younger/blonde one is the friendlier of the two but his brother is the one who runs the CNC machine.

If you can't get a banks intake, the next best thing is to do something like @Jrgunn5150 is doing for his 8.8L project.

hardest part is drawing out the flanges and tracing the o-ring paths, but if you can draw that up, there are a bunch of online CNC shops that should be able to cut and route the intake plates for you for reasonable prices.

Flow design isn't that critical with our motors being forced air.

The rest is just tig welding ;)
