I believe the backseat outlet is only available when you add the Trail Rail Management System that includes the lockable storage under the rear seat. Do you remember if you had that package?

That's the exact same one I have. It doesn't set off my sensors. With the bad departure angle, your hitch will be one of the first things you slam on and slide off of rocks. I highly recommend getting one before doing any serious offroading.
I only use 4H when the trail is flat and smooth enough that I'd end up going too fast in 4L (usually gravel and dirt roads). I'll also usually start a trail in 4H, but as soon as I hit my first obstacle and shift into 4L, it generally stays there.
