I originally just looped the strap over the bar like you had but felt that since the strap is so close to the hinge, that it could still be lifted enough to reach in and pull the release. Also, wasn’t sure on the strength of the plastic buckles I had laying around.
Definitely liked the more...
Glad it was just the truck and not through your house. Reminds me a little of one early morning in 2016 when I had my 5th Gen 4Runner...

in hindsight, I probably would’ve gone with the Offroam vent mount bases to not have so many arms and connectors all over the place. Though I haven’t experienced them first hand, it seems they would be as sturdy as the 67d mounts/arms and also can be fitted with 20mm mounting balls for mixing...
Yeah, hated how the devices were high and blocked some of the windshield. Ended up getting short (67 designs Nano) arms to move them down.
dropped Both my phone and iPad mounts down. Much better for me.
Thanks! Would want to remove the doors when not needed as it’s my daily and want to be able to minimize blockage and don’t plan to keep all the gear on all the time. Also plan to run this with a Bak revolver, so pics without the softopper and doors would be awesome!
Looks like a JCR rack to me. OP, I too wouldn’t mind hearing more about your rack and x4 combo. What did you need to do to make them work together especially if it is the JCR since I was planning to try that combo rack/tonneau.
