it sounds to me like the residual is a projection of the value of the vehicle though, and then the at the end of the term it's compared to what the value is at that time. so it seems the higher the residual, the lower the lease payment but possibly a higher buy-out, but a lower residual has a...
so if I plan to lease then buy, having a low residual in the hopes the vehicle keeps it's value is what I want. so residuals going down is a good thing in that case, right? just trying to get some clarity on this.
so when the lease is up, and the value of the vehicle retains more then the residual, do you come out ahead? or do you want to come under the residual?
my local dealership has $6k off MSRP, regardless of trim level. on a Sport or Sport S, that's not a bad deal. on a fully loaded Rubi, less so. I checked what they had but none had what I am looking for, nor am I totally ready to purchase right now. regardless of deals.
@madduck have you seen this thread? https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/gladiator-specific-cross-bars-bed-racks-now-available.23664/page-7#post-392721
Essentially, Yes. I've never bought, let alone ordered, a new vehicle except a motorcycle. I bought my '98 Tacoma in 2000 off the lot. So I obviously don't go through a lot of cars or trucks. It's just if I play with the options on a Rubi, I don't have get things I don't want in order to get the...
And why do I need to get the Convenience Group when upgrading the sound system on the Sport S? I don't even have a garage and don't need a $600 garage door opener. Never needed remote start before, no reason for it now.
I found those exact same deposits on 3 "local" dealers. When I told the $5000 dealership about the other places, they said it was policy and wouldn't budge. I said too bad. Another dealership texted "Not Interested!" when I said their deposit was too high and said others had $500-$1000 deposits.
I think I was peering through your windows last week. HA! Was it off the Lithia lot in here in town? They had a Stingray there last Tuesday.
Thanks for the heads up on SJC. Still closer then ID.
I think you're the first I've heard getting 5% under invoice in CA. How receptive was the dealership? I'm about to order soon, and still hoping to find something more local then Idaho. I'm in the North Bay, and a 2 hour drive > 10 hour drive.
Do you know if you have to remove the Rail-Trail tracks from the bed? I really like this option except for the price. ugh! but it's essentially what I would need to haul bikes but also have a cover.
my '17 Cherokee has it. was annoying at first, now I hardly ever think about it. learned how to push the brake hard or not hard enough to engage it without thinking about it most of the time. I recently did turn it off when in stop-n-go traffic on the freeway because it became almost as annoying...
The JCR rack seems a bit overkill for me though. I don't plan on using an RTT and I would want relative easy removal to use the truck for hauling stuff. I also don't want or like hitch mounted bike racks. I've never felt my bike hanging off the back to feel very secure, and always worried about...
