Indeed it was. Couldn't believe the muck we went through. Just when we'd think we were going to need the winch the "brains" would kick in and we'd start inching out. Only had to put it in reverse twice and never had to use the winch.
Disconnected my battery New year's Eve because the truck wouldn't start and this happened to me as well. The apps reappeared a couple days later on their own. Working theory from the thread I started is there's an OTA system that eventually restores what's supposed to be there but no definitive...
That's why I stated the box couldn't be center mounted with the Arcus bumper. If you don't mind rubbing on your grill it will mount and install. If you don't want to chew up your grill, side mount the control box with the Arcus bumper.
If you don't have the factory trail rail there is no need to drill. I believe he did that because the trail rail was blocking where the rear clamp needs to mount. Those of us without trail rail had no need for drilling.
Sure glad to hear everyone is ok. On the surface it looks like the Gladiator held up really well. I don't imagine the other vehicle fared near as well. Time to start plugging at the repair shop to get D60s under there since the axle needs replaced anyway, right?
Funny thing is I refused to buy GM products going forward as the data link was integrated into the ECU and couldn't be removed without making the vehicle inoperable. Now I may well be driving another vehicle with the same issue. Always connected vehicles rub me the wrong way. I understand if I...
@PsyRN , If the vehicle retains more than residual then you can trade it in and have some sort of down payment on what you're buying provided lease end fees and such don't eat up the difference. If residual is lower than projected you just turn it in at the end of the lease and the lease company...
I went out and plugged up my OBD adapter to go through it. I was disappointed to find ESS disable isn't a feature and you have to not only get a SGW bypass but if you want all available features you have to also get the OBDLink MX+. Awesome that they've got it working on the JT/JL however.
@Moabite , beam me up.
Seriously though, what happens 10-15 years from now if we need to replace the batteries? Did I miss the part of my purchase contract that says I am renting the apps on my infotainment system and they can remove them at will. I believe you're probably correct but this...
Well, looks like I will be skipping the trip to the dealer. Went to the store Saturday and the UConnect is back to normal. All the apps that were missing have returned and I can once again set the temperature for climate control. At some point I want to go by and see if they can identify what...
I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to make my white JKUR into a stormtrooper and never hit on anything. Now I'm trying to figure out how to turn my Gator JTR into Yoda. The whole 'yota thing really interferes with any of the ideas I've come up with so far. It really can be...
