Yeah that was definitely the same thing that has happened to who knows how many JL’s. Many long threads on then JL forum about the pressure plate/ clutch exploding. Usually resulting in a fire for most cases.
There’s even a Facebook group with over 130 people now. Search “jeep clutch recall”...
I won’t be buying or replacing with another Jeep, just a repurchase.
I think it varies by state too. Some repay you if you have receipts and others give you anything.
Older post here but I have received the same repurchase approval. Have been contacted by the specialist and after he has the paperwork they want the process takes 4-5 weeks.
They havnt mentioned anything about my parts/mods I have put on it.
Anyone else go through this or have any input?
I’m
Whenever you disconnect your batteries it resets all of your smog sensor data. All become not ready in obd2 and need drive cycles to complete and become ready.
I hear what you guys are saying but it’s been over a year since I changed my batteries and it never passed the o2 sensor to ready status.
Also, the dealer took it down to the flat lands and tried the drive cycles a lot.
If the o2 parameters were that sensitive to tires and gears wouldn’t...
Well they have not replaced anything yet. Only an computer update. With no cel codes they say it’s pointless to replace the o2 sensors. Gas mileage is good, no smells, idles smooth as can be.
Well yesterday it was egr and O2 but when I got home my obd2 scanner said only O2 not ready. Today it’s a basically all of them again but I have not driven today. Could it somehow be resetting itself? Or do you need to drive to get some of them to register. Just been sitting cold overnight.
Sacramento. So it’s hot now but it’s been months since I changed the batteries. Probably at least a bit over 1k miles if not more. Maybe 2k. Don’t daily drive it anymore though.
I’ll give it some more time. I do have a tazer mini but from what I’ve read/ been told that has no effect. People...
It took that many miles! Currently having this issue with my JL. I think ever since I changed out my batteries. 3.6L manual.
Seems like the Jeep is not doing the system checks. Ignition on run, check engine light flashes 10 seconds, stays solid. Indicating the system is not ready. Aka sensor...
Haha thanks. I actually have a JL but the tops looks nearly identical and the JL forum does not have much info about this rack.
Maybe even just measuring the side aluminum pieces height. That would give a close estimate.
Basically just trying to make sure I fit in my garage. Also looking at...
Can you give us a list of what has been replaced by the dealer each visit?
I am in a JL, same manual transmission, and have been on the forums since the start. Never seen anything quite like your scenario. I am at 30k miles and no issues besides a creaking noise when clutch is depressed once...
