So I pulled the little carpet circles off covering the torx that hold on the header latch contact points. Loosened them up and pushed them as far forward as they would go to create more tension then re-tightened. These have a slightly sloppy fit and a big old washer to cover. Now I get...
Over the last 6 months, $50k invested in my Gladiator is looking pretty good compared to putting it the stock market. With depreciation on a new vehicle the loss is probably close to the same, but the truck is a way more fun way to lose money.
Yeah the dang template... I threw mine out too because the main soft top box was too big to carry into my basement and it looked like weird packaging. Once you pull the hard top, put the 4 philips screws in not quite tight and then size it to the back of the Jeep itself. Then tighten screws. I...
I just swapped to soft top from the hard top in my dual-top kit. Latching down the front it does not seem to eliminate daylight until the last second. I see there is a double row of seals and a channel between them with drains... But I can slide a dollar bill between the top and the rubber seal...
I'll second the JCR bracket. I had one for 4 years on my JK without issue. Now have one on my Gladiator, even though I have an Ace bumper. Low and out of the way but still legal. Dumb law though. My front end is my Avatar pic right now the hanger is there with the plate removed.
Useful video, she did a good job. I'll even forgive her for repeatedly calling her Jeep a "car". ;-) I have not put my panels in the bag yet, couple mid-60's days coming up here in Denver could be time!
Here is the JCR skid with my Ace bumper, tucks in behind it just nice. On the blanket are the 4 brackets I removed to make room for attachment. I understand now that the square cutouts in the bottom of the skid are so you can place the nuts on the back of the front bolts.
Only complaint is...
Mudflaps were my most surprising mod. As in, I bought them very grudgingly to run in winter only, but now I love them and plan to keep them on year round. So nice when minor puddles don't trash a freshly washed truck.
Ace Expedition bumper will not work with the steel skid from the Rubi plastic bumper. I cut the corners off mine to make it work. IMHO the curved lines of the Mopar skid don't look right with the angular Ace bumper so I ultimately left the skid off. Got tired of waiting for Ace to release a skid...
You are right, the 33's on a 2" Mopar lift are going to look a little small. For "mild trails and passes" you are probably fine the way you are, taking into account the other advice already given in this thread. You could consider a 1.5" or less level kit for front for a little help, something...
I'll quack to that. Not to mention when you see another one on the road, and even in CO where 1 out of 10 cars is a Wrangler I spot a Gladi from 1/3 mile away. Generally do big smile and thumbs-up if they spot me back. Sales numbers be damned, the rareness is fun.
I only got my Gladiator in November, put in the Silverstar's the first couple weeks and the Alla's gradually after. Not lost any bulbs yet. I have read elsewhere the Silverstar's only last like a year or so, we'll see. I do wish they were a little whiter color temp to better match the 6500k LED...
I don't know what your point is dude, I drove with them and they are nice and bright. And regarding your 'alarming' red-underlined paragraph, yeah, Jeep Halogen headlights are very conventional reflector housings, not projectors. So not relevant and way out of context.

On a rural road near my house with no streetlights. Pointing up a hill. (These are the Halogen Sylvania Silverstar Ultra for context, not LED.). Low beam:
Hi beam, you can see further up the pine tree:
I don't have a "before" of crap stock halogens. But here are my 6" Rigid 360's...
If you want to see much better and stay Halogen, SilverStar Ultra make a big difference and are probably available at your local auto parts store:

They also heat the front lens so less risk of snow and...
