There is an ABS “check” the system performs that causes a little vibration/squishing noise. However it only does it once anfter start up and usually right between first and second gear…I think it’s speed related around 10 mph. Could this be what you hear? Drove me nuts until we figured that out.
I run a full size spare 37x12.5R17 and do a five tire rotation. It’s actually easier because you start with the spare and rotate one tire at a time, and only use a single jack. I wheel very hard trails and have never scraped the spare. I do have a 3.5 RockJock Pro lift though. I do tuck the...
This is a known issue. Z-Atomitive/Tazer makes a plug and play adapter harness that fixes this. The sensor in the locker gets filled with debris and malfunctions. It can also be replaced but a little more work. Z-Atomotive came up with this fix when FCA had supply chain issues.
The Tazer Mini is a valuable tool and a solid purchase. You do need to follow the direction carefully. Sleep cycles are very important. Most dealerships are cool with them, but some aren’t. They know most built Jeeps must have a Tazer or JScan to operate properly. Just work with them, and let...
Z-Automotive (Tazer) has them. Install is simple. You need the Tazer obviously. Quality is only 780. I never rely on it off roading anyways, just want to make sure I don’t fall off a cliff or hit someone in front breaking over something steep.
I have an after market RockJock Pro 3.5 lift. I get a little sag, but not much. The tongue weight should be 10% of the loaded trailer weight. My loaded trailer is 3000 to 3200 pounds. So that’s roughly 300 to 320 pounds. Basically half of what the hitch is rated .
I have two sets but for a different reason. One set of 35’s and one set of 37’s. I am re-geared to 5:13. I can run either set and get about the same mileage. I run the 35’s when I’m on long trips towing the camper. It’s easier on the trans and I can pull the bigger hills with ease. I still...
Depending on how close you are to the dealership and, how long you want to wait? That clip is likely floating around inside the tailgate. There is an access panel inside across from where the camera sits. Taken out the bolts and re-affix. Done in 15 minutes.
I’m not sure this was a “bribe”. Sounds more like service recovery with the hopes of a better survey. The manager acknowledges the problem, corrected it, offered some goodies as service recovery, and asked for a kind survey. He didn’t say, here fill this out and give me 5 stars and here’s your...
Make sure your FAD is working. First check to see that the plug going into the FAD is properly connected and the wires/connector are good. If so, with the engine running and your JT not moving (want to listen for the FAD), shift into 4HI, you should hear the FAD electronically engage.
Are the bolts holding the carrier bearing tight? Some play is normal. A driveshaft not under torque will move and clunk a little. Again, just put tools on everything until you find the loose component. Could even be loose/banging exhaust? Something in the bed…I had traction boards leaning up...
Unfortunately a thud or clunk on a bumpy road could be a hundred different things. I suspected my carrier bearing was making some noises, but it turned out to be suspension. The carrier bearing is a little looser than I would expect, and the outside of the rubber will appear cracked. According...
I un-marry in the parking lot at the dealership, and once again in the parking lot after service. Again, I have a good relationship with my dealership and if they don’t have computer updates, I don’t bother and they don’t mind.
As far as the reverse clunk…Tazer can’t fix, at least mine doesn’t...

Yes, once unmarried you need to reprogram all the settings upon re-marrying. Once you do it a few times it’s effortless and only takes a few minutes. It’s more than just “unplugging” it. Not sure if the J-Scan has the same requirement to in-marry?
If the lift came with a gas charged steering stabilizer, it will constantly push out and cause the vehicle to drift. It takes almost un-noticeable effort to keep straight, since it’s barely enough pressure to overcome the steering components, but this could be your issue since you say it drives...
