Gosh the exact same thread, over and over and over... It's like the movie Groundhog Day.
Does anybody read the included owners manual? Anyone? My truck came with a copy in the glove box, a digital version on the NAV screen, and a digital version in the app that the sales lady set me up...
Contact Customer Service and see if they'll help you with payment assistance. I'm not saying they will, but they might. I was able to get payment assistance from them when my JLU was in the shop for 3 weeks by being very polite with them over the phone.
Well seeing as how Toyota trucks have a history of being pure garbage, I can't imagine that your JT would last any less time on the road than a Tacoma.
The first gen of Toyotas were literally rusted when they rolled them off the ship. I guess the salt in the air over the pacific ocean ate them...
Yes, and that was the nice thing about those auto-hubs is that you could install manual ones in their place. I had the auto hubs on a 1995 F-150 and when they failed we put the Warn hubs in it.
But those "shitboxes" worked, and that's the point.
Engineers come up with ideas sometimes simply...
Some people love to be frustrated by plastic windows that scratch if you simply look at them the wrong way, get in the way every time you go through a fast food drive-thru, and flap in the wind on the interstate.
In fact, they love this misery so much that they'll pay $5,000 more money just...
Ahhh.....the age old question.
Should I drive a massive fuel guzzling land barge that was designed two decades ago, or should I drive a more appropriately sized truck that's a clean sheet design, loads of fun, and can be customized in a million ways?
Hmmm........
Yes, wheel width and offset is the key. Even with a good amount of positive offset (+10) on aftermarket wheels, 35s would NOT even come close to fitting my Max Tow. Had to use a 2" level in the front and take a Dremel to the edge of the air dam on both sides.
I think on stock wheels you...
It is quite interesting to see how the domestic OEs have handled this over the years.
Manual hubs were great. I really loved them. They had their issues too...like the dials freezing in snowstorms. You had to plan ahead. But, as Americans became lazier and lazier the OEs saw that it would...
That's another great thing about the Roadshock lights. They come with standard Deutsch style connections. So my existing wiring for Rigids works with Roadshocks too.
You may still need to buy the wiring kit, which is pretty inexpensive as well. $25 bucks I think. If you have the Aux...
People ask me a lot how I think these Harbor Freight lights compare, so I figured I'd just show you via video since that answers all the questions. Hopefully it's helpful to at least somebody.
That's the crazy thing. This fire was on the left side. The right side is where all the "bad" stuff is! Battery, fuses, EGR, DPF, it's all on the right hand side. Odd!
There's no way it's a 9 foot trailer. Maybe 8.5 wide, 7 tall. That's just barely outside the 56 sq/ft maximum frontal...
Shameless plug.... but if you look up the "OFFRD" channel on YouTube, there are a lot of great Gladiator informational videos over the last 2 years. Particularly starting around May 2019. Some of them may be of use if you're trying to learn the basics of what you can do with these trucks...
I just checked again earlier this weekend. Amazon has the Motul X-clean 5W40 for $42 per 5 liter jug. It's the most healthy oil you'll find for our engine at <0.8% SAPS.
The Quaker State oil is far less expensive, but it's a little higher in SAPS so there's a bit of a trade-off.
I should have...
There's been a video on YouTube for at least 2 years now highlighting the differences between Sport, Overland, and Rubicon and why each trim is good for certain people.
Wow. New one on me. 75W140 has always been the spec for towing applications. Just checked my manual to confirm. Yep.. 75W85.
Makes a guy wonder what, if any, role this 75W85 spec has in the axle failures and extremely dirty fluid at low mileage we've seen so many people write about. Hmmm....
Since cool weather is coming soon again, I thought I'd bring this back to the top to let people who are shopping the diesel know that heat in the cabin is not an issue. The EcoDiesel comes standard with a supplemental heating element in the HVAC system. As I understand it, this is literally an...
What's odd is that my truck has the same part numbers left and right. 377AA in the front, for example, but on both sides. I've never seen that before on a Jeep until I got this one.
It rides amazing. Much nicer ride than my old Max Tow.
