Adding a spacer to level out the stance with a 2" lift is no more adding lift then adding a spacer to level out the stance at stock height. A leveling kit is not a lift, whether you are at stock height or running the Mopar 2" lift.
The range of suspension travel doesn't change with a leveling...
Also, when you add a 1" spring spacer to compensate for extra weight, like a steel bumper and / or winch, that really isn't the same as running an extra 1" of lift.
The same applies if you are using that 1" spacer to level the stance out.
An extra 1" of ride height up front is not the same thing...
I get not wanting to use spacers, to keep the wheels / tires tucked in as much as possible. But in some cases you just want a little extra clearance. And wheel spacers can do that can do that cheaper than wheels with less backspacing.
I have run a one and a quarter inch thick wheel spacer from...
We replaced a gas powered second car with an EV when the time came (the gas powered car was at the end of its life).
The second EV we have is a company EV. The 2 Jeeps, along with the motorcycles, are our "fun" vehicles. We are lucky that we can have vehicles for regular use and vehicles for...
Diesel around here is around $6 a gallon. But gasoline is around $4 a gallon. It is cheaper to drive the diesel JT than it is to drive our gasoline Wrangler, in part because the Wrangler is more heavily modified and only gets around 14 or 15 mpg while the Diesel JT is around 25 mpg for the same...
I have not had an issue with stuff from Quadratec in a long time. But in the past if I did have an issue they were always good about dealing with it.
Sorry this went so bad for you. It sounds like poor choices all around.
Side note, what are you going to add for caster correction and shocks...
If it started after a lift install, I would start looking there.
If it doesn't stop if you disconnect the swaybar, it isn't the swaybar. I mean stop. 100%. With the swaybar disconnected if it was the squeak the squeak would completely stop.
There are a number of pivot points in the suspension...
As mentioned, having the aerodynamics of a brick means that higher speeds hurt mileage more than a more aerodynamic vehicle. My High Altitude came with those same tires. If I drive right with those tires I can get similar mileage. But swapping to 35" offroad tires has probably hurt my mileage a...
I am getting mixed signals. You say "I'm not a serious offroader", but you also say "something that will let me do some middle to high difficulty crawling".
Those two things don't match up.
If you have been researching lifts, then you should know that there are spring lifts and spring spacer...
If your threshold for TPMS hasn't been adjusted, I would expect the warning to persist until all four tires have been inflated to the stock tire pressure or above it.
The TPMS system works as what we in my business call a deadband switch. There are two values, the value that the switch turns on...
There are other brands that make essentially the same thing, a mechanical limited slip used a Torsen gear setup. The Eaton TruTrac (TrueTrac) is just a name brand. Other companies also seel them. But they are distinctly different from the variety of clutch based limited slips, which is what the...
My experience. We started with a 2016 JKU Wrangler (not a Gladiator, but the story is relevant). It came with the factory clutch based limited slip and had the Jeep Brake Lock Differential. The factory clutch style limited slip is weak. It is more of a "limited slip suggestion". And as the unit...
Well designed spring compressors lock on to the spring. I would be afraid to use one that didn't do that. The amount of energy stored in a compressed suspension spring is serious. It can hurt or kill someone.
The other set of bolts that needs to be properly tightened is your Trackbar bolts. Even if you didn't replace your trackbar, the bolts for it need to be loosened and tightened with the Jeep sitting on the ground so the trackbar bushings can take the correct set after lifting. And then the bolts...
As I understand it, it is basically a dual steering stabilizer setup, two steering stabilizers opposing each other, folded into a single stabilizer.
I would not want anything like that, but to each their own.
I would rather fix my steering issues if I have steering issues, not try to cover them...
That is what happened to us years ago with our JKU. We were going through a mountain pass in the snow with the defroster on full. It was cold out, and we were at high altitude (+ 12,000 ft). While the defroster was on full, some of the windshield was collecting snow/ice. The glass cracked in the...
The AEV 2" Spacer Lift can be used with stock wheels on a JT. If you need wheels with less backspacing then stock with this lift, it would be because of the tire size, primarily the width, not the lift. Although with a JT Rubicon running the wider axle you should have an easier time clearing...
