Totally understand. For me there is a point where it isn't fun anymore, and would never want one that came with reduced capability. Definitely respect anyone that can wring 100% out of one.
Yep, I don't race but it felt good getting the point by in my old C5 hooptie (manual). I passed an R8 in the rain once, which to me felt like a crowning achievement.
Honestly, mine drives like an old truck that needs all the bushings, ball joints, and rod ends replaced. It's not play in the steering box though.
I test drove a JLU when they came out and the salesman was really pushing me to buy it but the steering was 10 times worse than my JT is. I finally...
Even though it might not say so in the manual, you always want to let a hot diesel idle for a few minutes before shutting it off. If you're filling up, for example and getting back on the road, just keep it running.
I don't disagree but when my twins were born at least the JKU allowed me to even have a Jeep. I have fond memories that wouldn't have been possible otherwise.
I can't really speak to the job scene because I'm very insulated from that. I've worked from home since 2005 for the same non-IT company as a software dev. It does appear to still be a growing market though.
Austin used to be a weird hippy town. Cool vibe, no one seemed to take anything...
LOL. I got banned from my local jeep FB group for saying pretty much that ~8 years ago.
But I thought the JK was great. I've had everything from CJ7 up, and each new model is always an improvement, and then the people that own the old ones say how the new ones aren't real Jeeps., blah blah blah.
I've lived here my whole life (almost 50 years) and what I would call super cold weather is pretty rare, but it's happened before without near as much drama.
The problem, IMO, is the high population growth. The grid was fine 10 years ago, it just hasn't kept pace.
Totally OT, but all they have to do is file a contractor's lien and you best respond to it. They do have to take you to court to force foreclosure. I'm not a contractor or lawyer though.
