Yehp... Mileage and driveabilty have improved considerably.
And I was unaware, until this thread, that 8th gear is only to be used sparingly and under ideal conditions...
I wanted my engine and drivetrain to rev in the ranges it did when it was OEM.
The 4.56s may be a tad deep for 33s but should be dead-on with 35s (which are my next move).
I do know my Jeep is much more enjoyable to drive with the new set-up and my fuel mileage has improved considerably.
I...
My mpg fell off significantly when I went to the 33s with the stock gears... I wasn't using 7th or 8th gear.
Again I haven't put enough miles on my new set-up (4.56) to give an accurate review but in the 300 miles I've put on em so far my mpg is steadily improving.... and I'm once again using...
I'm with you when it comes to these kind of mods.
I really like my drivetrain to operate in the OEM range and I may have been OK going to a 4.30 but went 4.56 because I'm most likely gonna end up with 35s on it.
The 33s on 20x10 rims I currently run make my Gladiator look like a total hooptie...
My Gladiator most likely would have been OK with the 33 BFGs and the stock 3.73 gear but I didn't like it constantly switching back n forth between 6th & 7th and rarely shifting into and never holding 8th.
The gear swap is expensive but well worth it from what I've seen so far... Jeep has much...
Went with 4.56 gears and changed the OEM LSD out for a Detroit Tru Trac locker.
Have only driven it from shop that did install to the house so I can't give a true review on how the 4.56s work with my set-up.... but will once I get some miles and seat-time on em.
I can say that getting into...
Got a good chuckle out of this one....
I take my 250 to the Ford dealership I bought it from for all service.. Last time there when I went to pick it up the service writer told me "whoever changed your oil last way over-tightened your drain plug."
They were the last (and only) folks to change my...
Dropped Gladiator off last week for gear swap and locker.
I asked em to move the OEM Trak-Lok from the rear to the front axle...
They just called and said that LSD won't work in my front end.
I'm new so bear with me...
One of the first things I did with my jeep was open the door and back up to my mailbox... because my Jeep is too high for me to check mail through the window.
For whatever reason my Jeep allowed me to back up to the mailbox before it locked itself in Park and I was...
If I wanna ride with my doors off.. How do I get around the "auto-park" safety function?
Does the Tazer offer a fix?
Will tube doors trick sensors into thinking doors are closed?
I also just had AMP retractable boards installed..
How do I get around those with the doors off?
Ordered my gears and a Detroit locker for the rear today.
Now curious if I can move the OEM Trak-Lok diff that is currently in my rear to the front when we swap everything else around?
I'm new here so I know I'm asking a question yall are tired of hearing but have done a good bit of searching the threads without finding info needed.
My window sticker shows my Gladiator is equipped with a Trak-Lok "anti-spin differential".
Question is: Is this an actual mechanically...
