There are tons of studies out there, just open google and do a searchā¦.
So coming from a Tacoma, and now driving a jeep...
The pull on road crown is entirely different than independent suspension. Jeeps follow road crown more than any vehicle I've ever driven, and a lifted gladiator is even worse...
Your numbers look fine... My caster numbers are in the 4.6 range...
Has anybody tried a water sprayer for the radiator?
I don't think basic air cooling is going to make enough difference, especially if it doesn't involve increasing airmass over the radiators. I don't want to cut holes, or increase water flow over the top of engine components...
But I do...
Yeah Regen's on the 3.0 in the gladiator occur often. It's normal, it's good.
I bet mine happens at least every 1000 miles, maybe even closer to 500.
There is no notice on the dash, and zero change to the way the vehicle operates.
You may notice if you shut off the vehicle during a regen, the...
Yes additives are proven to reduce wear. There is zero argument to be made that thatās not trueā¦.
There is an argument to be made that wear isnāt the driving cause of this issue and thus additives will not reduce the likelihood of this failure mode.
Based on the failures Iāve seen, itās...
You will be fine. Mine is a JTRD on 35ā tires.
When climbing hills, slow down, stay out of the throttle. In my Tacoma you could stay on it with no Iāll effectsā¦. The 3.0 builds a fair amount of heat, so be easy with the go pedal on inclines.
Itās way more fuel efficient than my 4.0 Tacoma was...
I use a WDH on my JTRD with Mopar 2ā lift and 35ās
Frankly I get derates and 240-250 oil temps all the time when towing my camper. 3500lbs.
If you are towing a lot get a full size truck.
the gladiator is āFineā with it⦠but donāt buy It with the singular purpose of towing. The cooling system...
Yea there was one in a thread on this forum.
Statically itās seeming to help, but the issue is the design of the pump, which is why they are replacing it.
If you understand spring motion dynamics, you will know spring rates change ever so slightly when you introduce a bow into the spring. The direction of least effort will include an outward motion which reduces the rate ever so slightly as the spring begins to work against itself.
'Correction...
23k, I do use additive (LX4) (when warmer) specifically, and anti-gel additives with a lubrication additive in colder weather (sub 10F).
Although when I do fill up at higher quality fuel stations (like Kum & Go) https://www.kumandgo.com/fuel/xtreme-diesel/
I typically don't add anything because...
Hey there 2021 JTRD has not had a single ESS stop event in the past 3 months now. I assumed it was the batteries and scheduled an appointment at my dealer here in Littleton Colorado.
Symptoms have been no engine stop events in the last 2-3 months, system says 'Battery Charging' or 'Not Ready'...
There was another member just recently that said they were using EDT hotshots and they had a fuel pump failure.
The design of the pump is the issue, and likely the PCM programming is one of the drivers of that. Green Diesel Engineering called out the cause of it in one of their posts recently...
Itās been -5 to -15 the last few days here.
I had some gelling that resulted in white smoke, rough idle, etc.
I added some anti gel and itās been ok today.
40" tires / 37" tires / 35" tires are not snow tires....
I'd rather have a set of narrow 31" tires with a lot of siping in deep snow.
Wide tires float...
My wife's Subaru Forester is better in 99% of the snow conditions a driver faces on roads. It has narrow studded snow tires on it.
My 35"...
