These are great options but they certainly cost a lot more than my method. My method cost almost nothing as I already had the unistrut rails mounted, add a few nuts and 8 inches of unistrut and Bobs your uncle.
I get it, my method is not as clean as having a molle system, but I like homemade stuff.
I've been buried up to my axles before and used it to lift from the trailer hitch.
I have a camping trailer where the hitch has fallen off the block of wood I had it on and the jackstand sunk into the sand all the way to where the tongue was in the ground (camping at the beach in soft sand). I...
Howdy all,
I needed some storage but didn't want to take up a lot of bed space by installing a full toolbox so thought this idea might work for my small stuff.
I plan on adding a lock to the box before I'm done. Heck, I might add one to the other side too.
My understanding is that these don't actually have a locking steering column because the key/lock is not on the steering column anymore.
You can pull off the small dash area where the start button is located (youtube can show you how to get it off) and see if the red wire going to the start...
Plus, on the diesels we are supposed to cool down the turbo before shutting off. I your turbo is 800f and you pull off the highway to the stoplight, you should not shut down the engine without giving time for the turbo to come down in temp.
It even gives cool down wait times in the owners manual.
Many, many people have installed the Mopar 2 in lift kit and say it fixed the problem.
I thought they fixed the bottoming problem in the 2023 models, my 23 Rubi never had this issue.
The intake gets caked with soot due to the EGR injecting soot into the intake and on into the cylinders. If the EGR took 100% of the gas from after the DPF I don't think this would be a problem.
The government mandates it, but it doesn't do any good for an engine to have its exhaust gas put...
I'd say until you run out of fuel. As long as the engine is running I would think that 120v bed plug would provide its rated power (400 watts) as long as you want.
Ok all,
In have a question for anyone who may have tried this, or has enough knowledge to know if this idea will actually derate the diesel.
Me and a buddy were talking hypotheticals and he has an idea to block off the EGR pipe before it enters the intake.
I know it will throw a code.
But will...
I have a diesel and disable ess most all the time. We are supposed to allow the turbo cool down before the engine shuts off so I would rather idle the 2 minutes at a stop light rather than let the ess shut the engine off. Even around town the turbo temp is above 500 degrees.
