Oh wow that’s too bad . Once I got the tuned dialed I’ve had no issues . I get 20mpg highway driving and do get around 12mpg just around town . No issues shifting and easily gets into 8th.
Tune is def critical .
It would have been interesting to see what cel codes it was actually tripping but hindsight now. Either way enjoy the Hemi and good luck this time around !
The tuning : http://www.hillside4x4.com/ went back n forth with Ripp to get the tune dialed in. And i think you are correct that the trans wasn’t tuned but I just had to go through a re-learning path. I had what is probably a common issue with stock shifting between like 4th and 5th where u...
Amazing power . I feel the power is pretty instant and definitely linear - I think most chargers are if u compare them to turbos.... With the right tune it hasn’t bucked at all , but early on I was running a tad rich and there was some stuttering associated with that . With the right tune you...
They have a solution for this https://rippmods.com/collections/jeep-jl-wrangler/products/3-6-jeep-wrangler-sealed-air-box-system-for-ripp-supercharger
not sure on this but would consider it if I ever changed the hood out
So far RIPP has been pretty reliable after many miles of driving and high altitude off-roading . But here are a few more updates :
1) Gets decent mileage on hwy driving around 15-17mpg
2)Started noticing on cold days and on most cold starts the belt/pulleys are really squeaky at first...
I went with RIPP after looking into the procharger. Honestly a friend that runs an 4x4 shop recommended RIPP to me .. I researched it and then pulled the trigger and couldn’t be happier so far. The install looks clean and one would think it came from factory this way! The HP and torque gains...
I sometimes get an intermittent squeak on first start but definitely its not unbearable and doesnt happen enough to bother me. The supercharger itself was noisy during the break in but now its just the normal whine and suction that a charger produces - some people dont like this but its not a...
I see a lot of build date information - is there any correlative analysis on that yet ? (hopefully dont have to go back through 72 pages of data to find that and very curious)
Got a further refined tune for my altitude (denver) and things are looking good. Today I will take it to even higher elevation in the mtns to see how it handles there. I wasn’t getting great gas mileage before ~14 (never used ESS) but now in the upper 15s so I have seen a slight improvement there
Update : Got the factory dipstick removed and the replacement like I mentioned is a hex versus allen and seems sturdier for something that needs to be loosened and tightened on a maintenance basis . Knowing what I know now I would have just went ahead and ordered the replacement at time of...
I don’t have this problem but following this thread out of curiosity . I have almost same setup as you (35s , 2inch lift , 20 inch wheels ) and was getting 14 mpg average . I have since tuned and supercharged and now getting 15.4mpg .
Guessing the software update only changed some software monitoring variances for ESS? Seems like it’s not a fix for a true misfire ? ‍♂️ And I’ve mentioned this before I pulled rich codes and not a cel but @! Would trigger (did this while tuning my truck ) . So there are some thresholds they...
Hopefully this works for u !! I was hoping they shed more light on what needed to be reprogrammed . Does seem weird all JT programmed basically the same but only a subset saw actual problems - This part has me curious... but either way good luck and hope u are out of the woods on this one !
