Well, drove is a little today. No check engine light but I did get the Auto stop/ start not available again. See pic.
It was odd though because I started the jeep in the drive to put the windows up and cycle through to the screen with auto stop/ start and it initially said not avail because steering wheel turned. When I staighten out, it said not avial because AC on max. When I turned that off, I got the actual ESS light.
I restarted and it was gone.

Hi, I had similarly puzzling occurrence yesterday. I started the engine and turned off Auto Stop Start Function using the switch near the radio. I backed out of the drive and within 10 yards, the auto stop start light comes on. I drive about 100 yards, turn off the engine, and the light does not reappear when restarted. There is definitely something still amiss with the FCA repair/software update. I’m happy that the check engine light has not been on since the update, but a bit disappointed that several of us still have the auto stop start issue. I’m going to keep driving mine for awhile to see what happens...

So I heard back from the Service Manager yesterday who told me that the ESS problem was an easy fix and that I could bring the truck in and they will take care of it. Again, that was yesterday when I got my 3rd ESS Not Available message. Then the SM said in his reply email “If you turn the Auto Stop/Start off on the dash the light won’t come back on.” Today I took the pic below for his benefit when I see him tomorrow.

UPDATE:
CEL with P0300 code and Auto Stop/Start unavailable light were on when dropped off at my dealer 6/27 morning.
When the mechanic turned the truck back on to pull it into the shop, as expected, the auto stop/start light did not come back on, so they were not able to diagnose that issue. The performed a GR8 charge test on both batteries and they checked ok.
Also, while backing into the shop, the reverse camera went out and there was a B229900 code for rear camera module fault. They said they've had to replace several backup cameras and went ahead and ordered one to replace mine.
As for the P0300 CEL, they were monitoring the engine and said they witnessed no misfires at all and as far as they could tell, there was no evidence of actual misfiring. I'm not sure what they looked at, and it doesn't say on my order everything they checked. I definitely don't think they took anything apart, but did everything "diagnostically". They cleared the CEL and scheduled me to drop it off so they can replace the backup camera and so that they could monitor it first thing in the morning during a cold start in an effort to diagnose the auto stop/start issue.
But, wouldn't you know it, Sunday 6/28 and Monday 6/29 mornings the auto stop/start light did not come on after doing it consistently for weeks.
In my opinion, i think the CEL and auto stop/start will come back. When it does, i will update again.
UPDATE:
My CEL has come back on twice since my last update, on 7/10 at 3243 miles and this morning at 4095 miles. This makes the 3rd and 4th time the CEL has come on. There have been several instances of random auto stop/start unavailability sprinkled throughout. The 3rd CEL cleared itself after only a day. Again, there doesn't seem to be any actual evidence of misfiring, so I'll keep driving it until my replacement backup camera comes in and i can make it to the dealer. Hopefully they can try TSB 18-053-20 while they're at it, although it's looking like that's having minimal success

Since my update was done, I have not had any more CEL lights. But I have had a few ESS needs service lights, which reset after restart.

Day #3, after software update, and I was backing out of driveway first thing this AM, and my ESS Needs Service Light and Error Message came on. Reset after restart. No CEL light . . . yet. This sucks!
Interesting I was slowly backing out of driveway when ESS light activated. Check your average mpg mine was 14 with no power and obvious misfires.

Glade8tor and SJK-do you all have the back up camera and/or rear park assist? I do and I have to back out of the driveway. I’m wondering if this affects the ESS battery and makes the computer think it didn’t charge enough. I’m just curious but I really shouldn’t have to dedicate this much thought to a new vehicle. I do have an appointment-again-next Monday to have the ESS battery replaced. I think this is my absolute last time dealing with these warning lights.

I do have a back up camera and parking assist. In my driveway, backing out does not trigger parking assist warnings. Camera does engage. Maybe the camera engaging is this issue . . .

For all you folks who think or are being told that the software update is the fix you are not being given good information. The fix for 90% of these is mechanical. It's a head, cam shaft/cam censor issue. Mine is fixed and HAS NOT had the software update..

This might be the case. I think mine is making a ticking sound it should not be making. I’ve mentioned it to the Service Manager with no real response. The loaner Gladiators I’ve had have not made the same noise. There have been others on this thread who have had heads, cam shafts, cam shaft phasers, cam sensors etc. rebuilt/replaced and still had the issue return. Either way it should not be happening.

Question for all (like me) who are having recurring CEL 0300 issues: What is your average MPG? Mine is less than 14, but I have 35-inch tires, with aggressive tread, 2-inch lift and aftermarket wheels. I’ve read that these types of mods can also affect MPG.

I don’t have this problem but following this thread out of curiosity . I have almost same setup as you (35s , 2inch lift , 20 inch wheels ) and was getting 14 mpg average . I have since tuned and supercharged and now getting 15.4mpg .
