The stock tires, all season tires don't look right on the truck to my eye, but they're just fine for "light" wheeling, though that may depend on how you define "light". I plan to replace the tires, but am still running stock now, and they've been fine for me on the forest service trails I...
I think you're right, probably should've taken it slower. I was worried going to slow might get me stuck and felt like I should keep momentum, but it probably would've still crawled right out as long as I kept the throttle steady. Started from a dead stop, so I didn't have a chance to build up...
Nice to see other Overlands out wheeling, keep the pics coming!
I wonder if Anyone else on here was up at Tray mountain, GA Saturday 4/3? As I mentioned in the original post, there was a pretty large group of Jeeps Crossing this mudhole about the same time as we did. They were kind enough to...
You're exactly right, that water level visible on the side gives a pretty good idea of the standing depth, well below the rated 30" or so.
Granted, I did intentionally pick a picture that does exaggerate the severity of the water hazard, but I'm surprised at some of the fearful reactions from...
Guess it makes about as much sense as paying $50K for a capable off road vehicle and using it to get groceries.
Believe it or not, it wasn't nearly as bad as all that. Water was only about 2ft at the deepest, but the bow wave displaced did come over the hood for about 5 secs. Pic was grabbed...
Saturday at Tray mountain GA, bone stock Overland. Shout out to my fellow Jeepers up there that day for taking the pics and video for us! Any other Overlands getting dirty?
I also wanted one of these but was discouraged by the price and looked at 1/18 & 1/24 crawlers instead. Picked up the Panda Hobby 1/18 that looks like a Bronco (but isn't exactly). Have been into RC for years and run mostly traxxas 3s and 4s, but new to crawlers.
I will have one of these...
Man, some of you guys are rough.
Have to admit that I really wish the Gladiator had more power. I'd always had a fast car and a truck before consolidating into one vehicle with the Gladiator and I miss being able to make slower traffic melt in the rear view mirror. Also miss the interior...
Roughly in order of aquisition, leaving out a few vehicles not worthy of mentioning in a list of favs:
Red 65 Mustang 289 Coupe, 3spd manual: Nothing too special, except that it was mine, and my first car (got it in 87 or 88). Started a bit of an obsession with Mustangs that lingers today...
Curious to see how they fit and if you had to add any spacers? I'm fine with the stock sidewall height and wheel size, but would like to go a bit wider. I was thinking 285's may be the widest we could go without needing further mods?
Ah K&N filters aren't that bad! They give only a negligable improvement in performance, but results vary depending on the vehicle. I've used them in many cars over the years, most didn't change much, but some were a little quicker and got better mileage.
Can't prove it, but I do feel like the...
So no one's mentioned the weight yet, how much do the aftermarket bumpers weigh compared to stock, compared to mopar steel? I'd like a steel bumper and a winch but am hesitant to add that much weight to the front end.
I think I read somewhere that it varies slightly by model/trim. I want to say the Rubi's top speed was slightly lower than those models equipped with more street oriented tires. Sorry, didn't have time to validate but I'm sure a quick google search will yield the answer.
Obviously, none are...

Come on Man
My 96 Bronco had the 351, great motor. Really liked that truck.
Those 80's turbo motors were notoriously problematic. A family member had an 85 Mustang SVO that was great when it worked but the turbo had to be replaced twice. That said though, Ford's turbo technology has come a long way in...
This may make some heads explode, but the Sequoia trees are actually named after a person, "Sequoyah", a Cherokee who invented their alphabet and written language.
I love how whenever a thread starts with "this is not political" it always is, or turns that way. Kinda like prefacing a sentence...
1. Till the ice melts!
2. You may get different answers and some debate here, but if there's snow and ice on the road I put mine in 4H as soon as I pull out of the driveway. I'll even go to 4H if I think there's a chance there could be icy spots in places, as long as I don't have to negotiate...
