  1. Did you buy your JT because of the bed or for towing???

Towing, but mostly a DD for the wife. My Ram 1500 is my primary tow vehicle, but I needed something that can also tow my bass boat. This way I can tow our travel trailer and the wife can tow the boat, and I'm not spending extra hours driving back and forth to the lake to get both trailer and...
  2. Be Cautious When Purchasing Black Horse Off Road Products

I've seen spots like that on plenty of powder coated products. Top tier to low end. It happens. The manufacturer can't control the environmental impacts that can and will happen to a finish after it leaves their shop. Bumpers on my JKR showed similar spots rather quickly. Some of them got worse...
  3. Whine coming from underneath or front of JT

I'm betting it's just transmission noise.
  4. Dealership advertising on your Jeep.

I've only left the plate frame on one of my vehicles. That Mercedes dealer earned it, in my opinion. After the papers were signed, and while the car was being fueled and detailed, sales guy broke out some JW blue label for a few sips. Gave me a MB hat, keychain, gloves, umbrella, duffle bag, 2...
  5. Rear seats not folding down

Gladiator went in this morning for the folding seat issue, as well as a number of other issues. Loose steering, sagging tonneu cover, backup camera black screen, popping out of 4H, as well as LOF and tire rotation. We shall see.
  6. Which exhaust is everyone opting for

None. There's no benefit to buying a "bolt on" exhaust system for twice what you would pay at an exhaust shop to have a muffler installed. Find the muffler you want, take to shop, have installed. Profit?
  7. Balancing your wheels and tires with Beads? WHAT?!?

I tried them in my JK. Drove about 10 miles, turned around and promptly had them removed. If anything they made the entire situation 10x worse.
  8. Why was Gator and Gobi dropped?

Certain colors have always been limited run. Meaning they make a set amount of vehicles in that color and that's that. In 2012 there were 3300 JK's in Crush Orange produced. Nothing more, nothing less, and the color has not returned. Just like my 2017 Ram 1500 in Sublime green. Only 3000 were...
  9. First oil change....AMSOIL 0w20 or 5w30.

The thing is, engines don't have tighter tolerances. Not in the aspect you assume. In fact, parts wear in to be relatively equal regardless of machining tolerances. The only reason to go with lighter oils is to squeeze every last fraction of a percent of fuel efficiency out of an engine design...
  10. Premium Audio Group... can I rock out?

Yeah my ears are F***ED. Tinnitus bad. USMC, concerts, clubbing, car stereo systems, the random IED. Loud is all I know. And I ain't stoppin until I'm deaf. ?
  11. Premium Audio Group... can I rock out?

All things considered it does ok for me in stock form. Wage War All That Remains Killswitch Engage Light the Torch B4MV Alice in Chains Hatebreed Faith No More Pantera Stone Sour August Burns Red
  12. Premium Audio Group... can I rock out?

Factory 3.5" are one way paper cone speaker. I'd imagine simply replacing them with anything that has a more rigid cone is going to brighten up the sound. Going two way with a dedicated tweeter is even better. The factory speakers, all of them, are pretty flat and muddy.
  13. Gladiator gas octane?

AvGas is 100 octane, found at regional airports. PurplePower or Race is 110 octane, typically found near race tracks. E85 is 108 octane, but you need to be tuned for it.
  14. Gladiator gas octane?

Aerodynamics of a brick. Of course the fuel economy is not going to be that good. If I just wanted a mid-sized pickup I'd have bought a Tacoma. But I wanted something I can take the doors and top off while towing my bass boat. So I bought a JT. I don't think the fuel economy is that bad though...
  15. Gladiator gas octane?

Good thing you didn't wait for the 392 version. Premium only.
  16. Premium Audio Group... can I rock out?

I might make use of the Alpine PDX-V9 and Audio Control LC7i I have laying around. Figure all I'll need are components in the dash and sound bar, build a box to replace the factory sub with a JL 10TW3-D8. Boom, done. No need for a new headunit. The 8.4 is too integrated.
  17. Premium Audio Group... can I rock out?

The sound you were hearing it not blown speakers, but speakers being driven beyond their power limit and/or beyond their physically structural limit. Meaning the speaker is deforming enough to cause the coil to deflect inside of the driver. Which creates a crackled pop. It's FCA's way of...
  18. (Stupid?) Question About Oil Filter

Your appointment doesn't guarantee that your vehicles will be serviced at the scheduled time. It usually grants you time to get your vehicle checked in. They work on a first in / first out basis. Meaning that if someone's vehicle has been there for a week and their parts arrive at the same time...
