I won’t be adding a gas strut to this setup. Swing out carriers don’t usually have them. It’s an interesting idea though. It swings open so easily because of the bearings.
The usable area that you get is a bit more than that. I think it’s more like 40” x 20.5” depending on seat position.

Removing the seat is pretty easy actually. The factory bolts are some sort or large hex head but I found that a 6 point 11 mm socket worked perfect for taking them out.
Sorry about that. Bolts are (2) M12-1.75 x 60 and (2) M12-1.75 x 90. They go in the same spots the seat is bolted to. Thought I mentioned that in the video
