Driving down I-40w, east of Little Rock, saw this JTR with NC tags. I'm interested in a folding topper, and Softopper has the only one out for Gladiator right now; I plan to wait for the Twill Bestop version, but wasn't sold completely. If this is indeed the way a Softopper fits a soft top...

How many miles do [did?] you have? Were you just driving around normally when the cabin smoked up?

My first opportunity to take the doors off for a couple days coincided with our pollen bloom.... My interior was absolutely dusted green, and got a few bird bombs as well. We ain't worried about bugs.... It other words, "Its a jeep thing". hahhaha

its extremely convenient, though. Everyone wants it to fold back into the bed, but then you have to work around that for other bed options, including a full load of cargo... My favorite thing i've learned to do so far is to unbuckle it at a red light, push it up about 8", and watch it fold...

IMO, reverse is a little on the short side from a gearing standpoint.. it seems to be somewhere between 1st and 2nd. But I don't like driving full speed reverse, so i do a lot of feathering/riding the clutch. if i back up up hill or a long way, its gonna smell like clutch... I doubt you'll blow...

Looks like someone flopped it back to the windshield and lost control... I kinda wish they had put bumpers on the hood for that. Keep in mind your hood can be opened by anyone, anywhere...

I was very satisfied with the visual improvement with my 285 BFG TA/KO2, and pretty pleased with how easy the install was. I was NOT pleased with the stupid torque specs... "125ft-lb + 135 degrees".... it would click, then move like another 90 with every ounce of hernia I could give it, so...

Yup. if you to let out and try to lug low RPM, you get the UGGACHUGGA back and forth oscillation with can't be great for the driveline... and I believe is probably the reason for the 5th shock over the rear axle. Needs more low end torque or more gears... otherwise you're really pumping clutch.

Same. I have to imagine it is toward the end of the clutch's life, and happens when it slips at higher RPM. i don't see taking off getting it hot enough to grenade, I'm thinking of driving into the wind in 5th gear at 70mph....

I've searched, and looked in the manual, but not found anything. The manual states that "heated mirrors, if equipped, will be activated whenever the rear window defroster (if equipped) is activated." My JT is a soft top, so there is no rear window defroster (that i know of?). NOW, my mirrors...

I went to 285/70/17 BFG TA/KO2. I did not take a "before" measurement, but cruising at 80mph, my GPS read 82.7mph. My decision, for my truck, was that's not enough to worry about.

I really wanna see what these'd look like on a JT with no top of any kind. Wife won't let the kid ride in his seat in the back with the doors off... she said the Tube doors would give her enough comfort, but I'd prefer something like these over tubes, just to keep junk from flying out as bad...

I have one of these, and love it. makes stepping up in the bed with the tailgate up a hands free operation. This one is forged steel, and you gotta add skateboard grip tape cause its slick when wet or muddy...

Now, just imagine its a soft top back window, and the whole reflection dances around....

I wondered if anyone would get that.... I didn't even get it till after I posted it. hahahah
