Oh man, where do I start with this. What is your “vast majority” based on? Is it on wrangler demand or gladiator demand? Is it based on current gladiator owners, potential gladiator owners, or just society as a whole in major populated areas? Are these people using highways or on 35mph streets...
I guess we will see the results in towing and payload whether this is a good move. I’d love to see the actual mpg of these 4xe going from point A to point B 300-400 miles later at 70mph…you know the real world mpg and not hypothetical “if you only drive 20 miles per day and can plug it in”. I...
What did you end up doing with this since it seems to be the hot topic right now? It appears easy access through the right front wheel well liner but did you end up applying any heat shielding around the wire bundle? Seems like removing the exhaust is the tough way to go versus just removing the...
Fascinating…it blows my mind how many different parts Stellantis uses for the same applications in slightly different vehicles. No wonder they are not doing well financially. I totally understand upgrades (20 vs 21-23) but this change is just stupid. Kind of like having three different center...
Really?? I didn’t know that, what do they use, does it integrate with the original backup camera we had and the trail cam? Otherwise in my writeup in use mostly JL stuff not JT stuff.
Great pics and super helpful! Now whoever does the rest please take some more pics to add so we can perfect this fix.
@JeepCares I don’t blame Stellantis for this given I haven’t owned a perfect engine in ANY vehicle but I sure hope that they do the right thing to rectify this glaring issue and...
When someone figures out the best way to fix this whether by removing/loosening the exhaust EGR or whatever, please document with pics for the rest of us. This is definitely a headache job and without some documentation and pics of how to get to this harness. After reading this entires post I...
I had mine removed right after I bought it then my wife said she wanted them back in it. It was already a long shot convincing her to get it so I caved and they were put back on. All that to say depending on the color it looks WAY better without stickers but again, that depends on your color...
I want this tune so bad! Did you just say screw it with the engine warranty backed by Stellantis or did you end up getting a cloned ECU for shop visits?
Rails are not permanent but are a PIA to remove because of the adhesive on them. I do not like the way the rough country is secured and stays in place but I understand they came up with a universal solution versus a JT specific solution for attaching the cover specifically the rails. It works...
I have the rough country’s version of the roll-n-lock. After I saw the Bak 4S vinyl separating on my BIL truck I was out. I found the rough country and it has been great. I like the security since I park at the airport for work and the fit a finish are outstanding. The matte painted black also...
If I remember correctly the front washer nozzle is square with a small cutout to ensure it only goes in the proper way. Is it doable, yes, but I’m not sure without messing with it how to make it a clean install like the one offered on that link with a round 5/16 cutout which is much easier.
I also have the rough country. It’s been great but if I had to do it all again I’d probably end up going with a smart cap instead as once you put a tonneau on it, quite a few things don’t fit under it, like a cooler which drives me crazy. The rough country keeps things dry, isn’t glossy so...
Beautiful setup! Looks like you did it yourself…impressive! And you did it in the snow, you sir have reached mountain man status.
Cost I was looking at was $4599 + $500 lighting control + tax. Maybe I got that wrong.
EDIT: yeah you don’t need the lighting control, thought that was the LED...
Those would be game changers but the cost of entry is high. Did you go full up with their $6k option? How do you like the installation/integration into your current electronics? I would love to have these on my vehicle, they were awesome on the Vagon I used to own. I’m glad they’re out there but...
I meant “upgrade” to have the antennae in the windshield and delete the wire antennae on the side of the vehicle. I’ll bet it’s a super easy transition with exception to plugging the hole on the side of the vehicle...
Here’s a question, since the new JLU and JTs have the antennas in the windshield, would any of you ask for that glass instead? The antennae connection is inside the front passenger kick panel under the glove box.
Great ingenuity! But all this should have been addressed by Reaper and included in the kit with instructions to including the stronger the strut. That was a huge/expensive risk you took to get a product not ready to be completely installed at delivery. My hats off to your engineering, hopefully...
Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, the Wright Brothers…history is littered with quirky geniuses that have changed mankind without government involvement…heck, in spite of government involvement.
Government is most often wrong with a few successes here and there. One such success, our interstate system...
I truly hope you and others get a chance to read or listen to the books I’ve mentioned above if you haven’t already, they provide a unique global perspective on so many of these issues. NASA and the DoD have definitely advanced many technologies but the free market innovation has pushed the...
