That's a great idea. I think i have the same racks by KBVoodoo... I have a Yakima basket on driver side and bike mount and my traction boards on passenger side.
Had to get my rear different gears changed out due to bashing a rock on one of my offroad excursions. Actually not sure when or how it happened, so drove with it draining oil only when moving. Never left a mess under the Jeep so didn't realize it until it started making noise. When i did, it...
You'd be surprised what insurance covers... i haven't had to yet. Guy sank his jeep by the glacier here. His insurance paid for the recovery; he even bought back the jeep after his insurance totaled it. Other jeep left at the beach for the tides to ruin, her insurance covered recovery and...
That's pretty scary... a couple stories this summer of people sinking or leaving their jeeps behind on a couple beaches due to high tides up here in Alaska...
Along Kings River, AK. When there's a named rock - House Rock through the rock garden, you know it's gonna be interesting. Did use the winch and rock sliders, lots of screeching metal.
my buddy's J.Wrangler.
I ended up with the Overland trim just because i needed a replacement vehicle, and the dealers didn't have any rubicons. I drove it for the first year by changing the wheels and tires, 17" wheels 33" tires which was fine for what i did at first. 2nd year I started wheeling with the local Jeep...
Sliders pay for themselves pretty quickly too if you do any offroading as well...for what they are meant for :) That big rock hit both front set and the rear set too... hard!. I'd link the video my buddy posted... not sure if it's public though.
Sliders in action...
I have this smitty bilt beaver tail sitting i my hitch... It works as a step, and beefy enough to use as a recovery point. it's a little incentive to keep ones distance, i hope.
Upper Purches by Hatchers Pass, Alaska. It was pretty slick from all the rain we had earlier in the week. So on the way back down, my tires slid out while trying to get around a tree and "crunch", damage to the roof. I've currently patched it up with some flex tape and black gorilla tape over...
I ended up getting a rubber mallet to help. Definitely good idea about getting some extra pins. Yeah totally no about the level part, hehehe...what appears level to the eye, sure isn't when trying to reattach the swaybar. I was able to install one side, then moved forward to get the other done...
I ended up getting the Metal Cloak bump stop kit with the hockey pucks. Now to install them... I'll also be ordering some new front fenders and liners...thinking of going with the Fishbone tube fenders and liners.
Only seems to rub when one side is high and the other side is low, so when flexing at whatever limitation my fenders cause... It's an overland, so it's lower than the rubicon or mojave fenders. It doesn't cause any noticeable damage, just sounds horrible. Doing a quick search, i didn't see any...
Just added JKS swaybar quick disconnects and went offroading for the first time this past weekend. I do have a 2.5" leveling lift on a JT Overland. When I'm going over uneven terrain now with the sway bar disconnected, my wheels rub, not enough to do damage so far, but does sound terrible. How...
