Were you at Trailtoyz this past wednesday? I think i saw a Rubicon Gladiator parked next to mine as i was leaving... I had to get back home since i was on company time, so i couldn't stick around to say hi.
I think a group tried to go out this weekend, I haven't seen any updates on it yet. Wonder if they made it. I'm breaking in some new gears, so no wheeling until then. Too cold for me to do any camping in the winter... need a working toilet
another trip t Knik Glacier, didn't make it. Turned around at Wolfe Creek after a RAM Power wagon broke through the ice. Had a bit of a warm spell, so a lot of snow melt and ice. most would recommend not even trying... but we had an experienced group and called it when things got sketchy.
Jim...
Went off-roading over the weekend...Jim's Creek-Palmer AK. It's supposed to be winter and covered in snow... more ice and very slippery. almost like being on a disneyland autopia ride...just kinda let go of the steering wheel and let the trail lead the way.
I just 35's, was thinking going with 37's and 5.13 gears...but after mocking up a 37 and thinking of my current setup... it'll be tight. I just have 2.5" leveling lift on front. I just don't have the budget to go higher right now.
on 3.73, i only see 8th when on perfectly flat with a tailwind...
the 2021's have the option for the Select-trac all the time 4wd. i miss it from my JGC... not going to take the hit though, so making due. I've already spent a bundle for the various parts i've changed. If only they had a rubicon was on the lot when i picked my overland. it was a vehicle...
After a couple weeks of trying to decide, 35" BFG KM3's installed. Will be going in for a gear swap to 4.88.s. Almost got 37's but too much had to be done for that to work.
I ran into all these issues when i tried to use a Tekonsha and Curt wired brake controllers over a year ago when i first purchased my Gladiator. Read about the diode thingy in another forums post and decided to wait the winter before trying again. Saw someone buying the Curt Blutooth brake...
