  1. Parts is parts

I came for the Ford bashing, but I’m staying for the arguments.
  2. So, what's your "Topless" record so far??

A smelly kid, is a happy kid.
  3. Removing the roof (3-peice hardtop) with a short wife and a tall husband?

I went the hoist route myself - actually bought one from Lange, but still. The hoist makes things quick and easy, plus I know I always have a safe space to store my top when it’s not on my Jeep. I highly recommend it.
  4. Favorite color you didn’t buy…

If they had Xtreme Purple that would have been damn tempting. Every time we see a JK in that color my wife is the first to point it out - she thinks it looks amazing, and I’m inclined to agree. Im still more of a fan of yellow, but damn if that purple ain’t sexy.
  5. Favorite color you didn’t buy…

Nacho. Got what I wanted, and wanted what I got. What can I say ?‍♂️
  6. just purchased

That's all that matters - that you feel like you got a great deal. Could have you gotten a better deal? Maybe. Could you have paid a lot more? Absolutely. At the end of the day, it's your Jeep, and you're happy with it. I'm happy for you too. It's a nice color, and you got it below MSRP -...
  7. 3.0L 6-Cylinder Turbo EcoDiesel

It was my understanding that the EcoDiesel in Jeeps and RAMs is exlusive to those vehicles. But, from this article, it appears that it was (is?) used in Fiat and Chrysler vehicles in Europe under the name A630 DOHC. Wikipedia lists this model as being used in a variety of Jeep Cherokees and the...
  8. Jack points front and rear

If you place the jack stand under the axle housing you'll not have to jack up the vehicle as high, as the suspension won't droop on you.
  9. 3.0L 6-Cylinder Turbo EcoDiesel

Not trying to be a jack ass, but I am not sure what you're asking. Are you trying to ask if other vehicles use the same 3.0L as the Gladiator?
  10. Trail Mater Recovers a Gladiator

Whoa! The control arm didn't break, it came off whole, taking the frame-side mount with it. That's a new one on me.
  11. Emergency Break

I'd say that is certainly one emergency break!
  12. NACHO Gladiator club

I'm working on it ;) I hope to have this information available within a few more weeks. Easy once I have all the VINs.
  13. Willis or Willys ?

I own a 1948 Willys CJ-2A, and even I don't know the right way to say it. Most times I say "willis", but sometimes I catch myself saying "will ees" - especailly when I'm trying to focus on what I'm saying. Honestly not sure which one is more correct, but... ?‍♂️
  14. NACHO Gladiator club

I've identified 763 Nacho Gladiators (and counting), so we can rule out 760 as being the total. Also, considering that my data says that Diesel represents only 8% of total Gladiators made, I don't see how both of these statements are true - the total number of Diesels cannot be 760 and/or the...
  15. Check Engine Light at 2992 miles

I'd find a different dealer. Unless you're in there every day with something silly, or complaining about something you broke yourself, diagnoses should be covered under warranty. Simply expressing concern about a perceived malfunction of a brand new vehicle is a warranty issue in both my...
  16. Gupton Motors up to 8% below invoice

I honestly don't know if you can use it now. My gut says yes, because technically you haven't purchased this vehicle yet. If it were me, I'd let your dealer know that you forgot to mention that you had an FCA control number, and verify that this won't be a problem. At the end of the day, they...
  17. Shocking new gas prices [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS. VIOLATORS BANNED]

Yeah, this is why I don't try to time the market. Instead, I just buy, buy, buy. My next pay check can't get here fast enough. If there's one silver lining to all of this, it's that the stock market is significantly undervalued, and it makes it even cheaper to pick up more shares of index funds. ?
  18. Gupton Motors up to 8% below invoice

Have you told them that you have an FCA control number? See this thread for how to get one. It's a guaranteed 1% below invoice, and no dealer worth dealing with should balk at that. It's not haggling, it's a legit incentive that Jeep provides to employees, contractors, and affiliates.
  19. Gupton Motors up to 8% below invoice

I answered this in another thread, but it's worth repeating here as I think it might answer your question:
  20. Just wondering if it’s just me?

Thanks! That's actually the way the hoist I have is designed to work. I'm sure you could rig something similar. There's just some foam that seperates the top from the freedom panels, and a pair of bungie straps secures them so they don't move around.
