The price was better. It wasnt something drastic that made me feel like I was going with a Dollar General brand, but enough of a difference for me to view it as a pro.
The guys I have been to AOAA and Rausch with both run the Gamechanger, and they are in some capable Rigs. So I have real life...
I talked to some guys out in Bull Run, and most of the guys i hang with run Metal Cloak with great results. I see great reviews about their customer service too, and so far that has been my experience too. I was a hair from picking clayton...but MC won out.
So...thats the direction Im going...
Looks sexy as hell. I was lost in the sauce with how many shock options were available, and I needed some for the lift, so the Rocksports that come with the package will have to do. I was eyeballing those 2.0's though...is it too early to be thinking about shock upgrades? LOL
This is my build thread. Make sure you get this over to, "Jeepers of Maryland" so everyone can see it!
BUT, I am definitely interested in getting some trips up there, and meeting some new people!
Hey there, welcome!
Nice looking ride, I think the wheels look great. I wonder if Ive seen you driving around...I'm in the crofton area quite a bit, and live over by the Nautilus Diner.
Anyway, I know this thread is a little all over the place...it went from my build thread, to a Maryland...
Thanks for the input Joe.
After speaking with a few different places, the Metal Cloak service won out...and continues to win out every time I talk to them about something. I am going to go with their Gamechanger kit, and they are going to include Evo 4.5 HD springs for front and rear. I dont...
So I am about to purchase my lift, and am going with the Metal Cloak 3.5 Gamechanger. They are gonna include the Evo 4.5 HD's...
I keep seeing people talk about the sag...so Im hoping it does well for me until I pick up some Rock Krawler 4.5's. I dont have additional weight (besides the...
Did you figure it out? Rock Krawler has a 4.5 spring for the diesel.
I am about to buy my lift from MC, and they are including Evo 4.5 HD springs front, and regular evo 4.5 rear, but I plan on buying the RK's if they dont work out.
Sucks to see no one has replied to you, so hopefully this bump helps.
I am also interested in hearing about this, as I am about to buy a lift, and am considering getting different springs than what comes with the kits. Rock Krawler seems to use quad rate coils for their "diesel" kit, so I am...
Hey guys, reposting this here, looking for your thoughts again. Thanks!
Alright, so I am about to purchase my lift. I was looking at the Rock Krawler 4.5 X factor "No Limits", for the height, and the quad rate springs, which seem beneficial for the diesel. However, the price has recently waved...
Alright, so I am about to purchase my lift. I was looking at the Rock Krawler 4.5 X factor "No Limits", for the height, and the quad rate springs, which seem beneficial for the diesel. However, the price has recently waved me off.
I could use some opinions...
Metal Cloak GC 3.5 with...
Just like the title says...I am about to purchase a lift for my JTRD. I was looking at 3.5's, but have decided I want to get a 4.5 to gain that little bit more height in the center of that long wheel base.
I would love some opinions, and to hear about some experiences. TIA!
Sounds like you're gonna be having a good time tomorrow! The wife and I have a packed weekend, so I wont be able to swing by....I take it then that you are for installing your own lift?
For those of you that have been in the Jeeping community for a little bit, and/or have experience with getting and installing Lift Kits; How would you suggest going about it?
Do I purchase on my own, or have who will be installing it purchase it? Will they install it if I just show up with it...
We got about 6 in the Crofton area...got to have a little fun driving on the roads around here...today, everything is clear now. The Gladdy felt good, I let out some air a few days ago to get the pressure to about 35, and it felt like it made a difference. Although, it could be a mental thing...
That is a good looking bumper! And I see you spared no expense on the winch! It all looks great man.
I am hopefully getting my lift take care of before it warms up, and then it's bumper time for me!
It depends on what they consider hardcore, is what Im saying...since that is how they are advertising it.
But I think for a daily driver like youre saying, and getting out there AT MOST once a month....i doubt that would warrant a premium.
Yea, but what is hardcore off-roading? Are the Johnny Joint adjusters the only difference? I guess I should see how crazy that 40 degrees of misalignment is.
How long have you had their overland? And what do you think about it?
Not at all. I still need to find what the real differences are, and how important those differences are to me and what Ill be doing. I'm just keeping that additional 600 bucks in my head so I'm ready for it if I go that route lol.
Do you have any experience with them?
My guy. I went through Tate also, and people couldnt believe the price they gave me, especially with everything going on with dealer upcharges. Super easy process, very transparent, and the salesman I went through, Donte, kept his word on everything we talked about when I first placed my order...
