Why did you send me down this rabbit hole?!!! I just watched 3 YouTube videos of some dudes on big ADV bikes running this "trail". It looks perfect for what I like to do - nothing too technical but far enough away from civilization to feel like you're out there... It's mostly gravel roads...
I've been on an Old Forester kick lately. The 1910 is my favorite so far - better than the regular OF and the 1920 IMO. I picked the 1870 up yesterday and it's smoother than the 1910 but doesn't have that smokey taste that I love. Still good stuff though. I was always (and still am) a...
Finally bit the bullet and put on a Rock Hard winch plate and a Smittybilt 10k winch today. That set up let me keep the plastic bumper and save some weight on the front end. It was mostly straightforward except for getting it all in place WITH the grill back on. I had to loosen the whole...
Not sure where you live in NC, but Hendrix in Wilmington matched the Tri-City deal and gave me the Tread Lightly discount too. Dana was my sales person.
My friend is a sign maker but she also does decals and such. I had her make me a new front tag and I think it turned out pretty slick. I was looking for a red, white and blue jeep tag when this popped up - sent her the jpeg and this is the result.
Got a washer fluid low warning and when I popped the hood I found the in-flight tray (battery cover) had been put to use by my furry friends. I wasn't planning to post anything but then I saw a bunch of folks with the exact issue on a Gladiator Facebook group... Not sure if it's the space...
I did mine at just over 3000. The first 3 are free but only within a limited time (36 months?). If I waited for the recommended mileage, my free ones would be expired. I'll probably go every 5000 now until I run out of the Jeep Wave ones.
They were very easy to install and feel solid. I think they are going to be perfect but it hasn't rained since I installed them - the bane of white trucks is that constant mud splash. Just know that if you have a max tow, it's fronts only. I'm still debating what to do for the rears.
When you're a Jeep husband/dad, you get cool Jeep stuff for your birthday! Weather Tech mud flaps (rears didn't fit and are not available for max tow), stubby antenna and Smittybilt seat covers. She's slowly transforming...
Reworking my boardwalk with Trex decking. 6 10' 4x4's and 21 trex boards (plus 15 cement blocks on the floor in the back seat). I was a little concerned with all of that weight on the tailgate cables but it was fine.
25 years USAF. Started out flying KC-135s and did a little bit of everything. Retired in 2013 from the AF Research Lab to move back to paradise. Now I drive boats and a hovercraft (in addition to my JT).
Left 90 degrees and 90 percent humidity at the beach and went to the mountains - on this day it was 61 degress when we started the hike. I love North Carolina - 6 hours East-West completely changes the terrain and conditions. Next time, I hope to be set for some trail rides.
Got my swing away tool box mounted. If you get one, take the rake of the truck into account... I mounted the bracket level and surprise, surprise, the damn thing was running uphill so much my bed cover wouldn't close :headbang: It's squared away now and I think I'm really going to like keeping...
Went to visit Grandpa... You should definitely drive one of these - you'll never complain about rough ride, vague steering, noise, etc. again
Belongs to my father-in-law. He's restored a bunch of military vehicles but this is the last and he's keeping it for himself. It's a hoot as...
The Pixel Decal fairy came yesterday. Luckily, the lady that does all of our lettering for the rescue squad was available to put them on for me - this stuff is way too fiddly for me. Those vent flags are two separate decals, not just one with a colored outline. I had them blow up the Kaiser...
I have an ACR PLB that I bought for the boat but I take it on trips when I'll be out of cell range. It's truly a SHTF device but I sleep better knowing that if worse comes to worse, I can hit the big red button and somebody will come looking. Very cheap insurance.
