Your jeep looks awesome. I'm looking to put the same AEV 2" lift kit and to run 37" tires as well. Was originally thinking 35", but from everyone's advice is to go big so there is no regret of wanting bigger. Sounds like gearing with be a must have in order to make the manual work for the...
Thank you for sharing. How was your impressions so far towing? I won't need to tow anything more than 2700 -3000 pounds. I do have to reverse in a few challenging driveways though.
Anyone have anything to share about towing with the manual. Have a manual mojave on the way. To be honest, bit worried about towing and having to back a trailer up with the tall reverse gear. Still have a few days to change my order to auto and definitely thinking about it. Been a manual guy...
How did the regearing change first gear for daily driving. Do you find you still have to shift to second 20 feet down the road? Does it help make each of the tall gears (and reverse) better for daily driving with 37's?
Ordered it from the Ajax dealership, they were pretty nice and gave me a $4500 discount as I had my old jeep serviced there. These JT's are definitely pricey though, then adding in all the extras puts a large hole in the pocket.
I'm in the GTA area and just planning my rig. Ordered last week and was told I have a few weeks to make some changes. Added the satin black grill to my sting gray order, took the mopar tri fold cover off (heard it leaks and doesn't fold up all the way) and now still questioning the...
I am also from Canada as well. Wanted to switch to a good winter tire to help with snow and ice while towing. Also worried about rust on my rims as my last jeeps rims looked rough after a few seasons of salt. I do agree to just find a good snow rated tire (will have to look into the K02s) and...
Thanks. I prefer manual as well and have it in my mustang GT. A lot of guys on a verity of forums mention that you can run 37's without regearing with the new 8 speed auto. Not one to pick the easer (not as fun) route, however, having to switch between summer and winter wheels and tires has...
What gears do you have? I ordered a manual, but having second thoughts as I heard read so many bad reviews about the 6-speed and the tall gears. Oh and the super tall reverse gear. I have never owned a automatic, however, feel like making the change. After 2 years do you still enjoy the...
Just looking through the threads. Trying to find anyone with a manual and larger tires. You still enjoying the manual transmission? You change your gears?
Anyone running 37's with your MT and 4:10 gears? Gladiator is on order, wheels are picked out, just deciding on tire size and what I can get away with on the 6-speed. I know many auto guys say it's durable without gearing. Wondering what peoplea experiences are with the manual?
Sounds like the tall gear can't be avoided if all makes are doing it. Not sure why, but it is what it is. Are you enjoying your manual?
Great , looking forward to it. I'm sure at some point I will upgrade to 35 or possibility 37's. Regear will be my plan at then.
That's exactly why all my jeeps have been manual. Had a auto rental for 6 months and was bored driving it. The ram with the hemi was nice but just found I ended speeding, not braking when I should and even at times very distracted. Love the fun of shifting and have test drove a few manuals...
I ordered a manual, but I'm having second thoughts about it. Never owned an auto, but with low tow ratings, very tall reverse and two overdrive gears got me worried. I tow and have to backup a trailer of snowmobiles and worried about the clutch along with the fact i test drove one and couldn't...
