Not mine, it goes straight to radio no matter what was playing before, then I have to go through the menus, media-select source-Bluetooth, etc., to get it back to the phone.
Can a Tazer of Jscan or other programmer change the radio settings? (23 Sport base, uconnect 4 with 7" display). I just want to keep the radio from turning on by itself as soon as the vehicle is started, I want it to default to bluetooth and have silence until the BT device connects.
My first Jeep was a DJ-5 (postal Jeep, but left side driver like a normal car) of which sadly no pictures exist... painted olive drab, hand cranked boat winch on the front. 2WD but posi rear and 16" pizza cutter wheels. Fun on the trails but terrifying in the snow.
My second Jeep was a '79...
Right, I saw that thread, but it still seems that the electronics don't do anything for me that the RFID chip can't do (no buttons, no power locks or alarm in my truck), expect possibly work at longer range than an RFID chip can... at the cost of fob battery life as the fob has to listen all the...
For the buttonless fob, what do the electronics do as there are no buttons to push? If it's working with no button push then it must be drawing power from its battery all the time receiving or transmiting.
I just ordered the Westin HDX rails in stainless, $408 with free shipping on Amazon. I thought about the $150 local used rails but figured it's a new truck, it should have new rails. Also ordered a receiver hitch.
I'm leaning towards the Westin rails in stainless I mentioned earlier. Westin confirmed that even the black powder coated parts (most of the rail) is indeed stainless underneath. That just seems like a good idea considering how many people complain about rusty rails.
I wanted a standard, but they simply don't seem to exist, at least in Sport trim. I found one, I think it was a Rubicon,, 2000 miles away... at $69,000!
No sweat, been a rough morning on my end too...
My expectations of what a Jeep should be are largely formed by the CJ5 I had, very spartan. I figure the base model has less to go wrong and stretches my finances less.
I like the look of the Westin steps but they seem to stick way out?
Somebody local was selling a set of Iron Cross sidearm steps and they looked decent, but he never got back to me.
I did, it was playing music from the phone via bluetooth when I shut the engine off. But when I started it up again, the radio comes on and I have to again tell it to use bluetooth as the source.
Minor annoyance with my new 2023 Sport: I normally listen to music from my phone, either Pandora or local files. If I plug the phone in with the USB cable, it starts Android Auto, and if not I can just use bluetooth. (typically I use AA when I want to see maps on the display, not for local...
The window sticker doesn't mention them; I just assumed (incorrectly) that it would list only extra cost upgrades with the basic ones simply being included.
That's the plan, depending on what I can find.
That's what I was thinking. My hardcore rockcrawling days ended with the sale of my CJ5...
Ok, thanks. I accepted it as there are so many available, whether new or takeoffs, but then looking at the unfinished looking edge got me to wondering... and the picture on the Jeep.com website for my VIN shows something there.
