Minor annoyance with my new 2023 Sport: I normally listen to music from my phone, either Pandora or local files. If I plug the phone in with the USB cable, it starts Android Auto, and if not I can just use bluetooth. (typically I use AA when I want to see maps on the display, not for local driving). The problem is when I start the car, it starts the radio instead of just connecting to the bluetooth and I'm greeted by a blast of static or some radio station shouting at me (I almost never use the radio). Is there a way to prevent the radio from automatically starting, or have it default to bluetooth? This is uConnect 4 with the 7" display.

If I leave the source set as either Bluetooth in the Media selection or have Phone (in my case, CarPlay) selected, it will minimize the radio blaring at me.
But it still does it sometimes.

I did, it was playing music from the phone via bluetooth when I shut the engine off. But when I started it up again, the radio comes on and I have to again tell it to use bluetooth as the source.

As reference BT isn't instant. It takes a few to reconnect to a device.
I know... I just want it to not switch to radio during that time.

I just set the media to the USB my phone plugs into. Seems to do the trick.

Yeah, when it's plugged in it just goes to Android Auto and works, but I want it to work when it's not plugged in.

When my Sirius radio expired I set the media to that. Nothing comes up until phone is connected

Turn down the volume and back up after you connect. At lest you won’t get the noise.

I found a partial solution, though it's a crude hack. I still have the BT to FM transmitter from my old car. If I plug that in to the switched 12V power socket and tune the radio to it, I get silence instead of static when the radio turns itself on... but I still have to go through the motions to reconnect to the phone.

Your situation is weird. I have had both the 7.0 and 8.4 radios and never had it default to radio on startup unless I was on radio when I powered off. I have done this both with my Samsung Android phone BT paired, unpaired and with and without USB cable attached.

In going through the Owners Manual for the Multimedia, I seen a section for making a phone or other audio device a "Favorite" from the currently connected device. Maybe you can play with that setting and see if it helps? Could be set to radio and that is why it defaults to radio at every startup?

Searching this forum, seems lots of others have the same complaint as I do.

The "favorite" setting only makes one BT device preferred over other BT devices. It's not available (grayed out) when only one device is paired. I've searched every menu and tried every option.
