crap like this is why vehicles are so expensive these days. If it was just an option that would be great. It's when you want one option but you have to buy another overpriced option to get it that's when the price gets inflated.
This truck is on my short list because it has a manual option. I will not buy an auto period. More expensive to buy, more difficult to service, more costly to service, more likely to fail, more costly to repair/replace, and less fun to drive.
I have to roll through the gears. I don't have...
I really hope the pricing experts don't read posts like this. A TRD Off-Road can be had OTD for less than $40k and you guys are chomping at the bit to pay 1-ton diesel 4x4 prices for a Jeep Truck. Yeah they're cool. Yeah I want one, but spouting off about the willingness to pay exorbitant...
Any word on order date and price?
Also, presuming I want to special order mine because I want a manual, when would I start that process and when would I have to put money down?
It's this or a Tacoma. If this is too much more expensive than a TRD Off-Road I'm getting the Toyota. Hell, just building a JL vs. a Taco online it seems like the Jeep is 8-10k more expensive.. :(
Never heard of a 1st gear lower than 6.xx:1, and there is no way this tranny has a granny gear.
Per wiki a torque converter can net around 2.5:1 multiplication. 77 / (2.5 * 4) = 7.7:1 first gear. Is that so?
AEV did such a great job with the bed. I really like the square edges. If Chrysler makes some kind of rounded atrocity I won't be able to stomach it. Jeeps need square lines.
I would like the diesel with a manual, but I am not willing to compromise the manual. I will not buy the diesel if the manual is not an option for it. If the manual was not an option at all I'd buy a Tacoma. It's down to these two trucks..
Rubicon trim with diesel and 6 speed manual. I don't need all the other creature comforts like power this and heated that. I don't want this thing hitting $50k. :( $40k is already painful enough.
I am really hoping for a manual transmission with the diesel, though it would cost more than my four prior vehicles combined by almost 2X. I will not buy an automatic. If they don't, I'll buy the 3.6L. If there is no manual, I won't buy either.
