The fact you have one side correct should help. This can easily be fixed, see my post above yours. You will need to loosen the two screws that hold the side door rails to the main top piece. Then it's really not that hard to wrangle that piece of plastic underneath the door rail. See photos above.
I think why this gets confusing is because it's not like the part is bad or it's not. If on a scale from 1-10 with 1 being a perfectly manufactured steering box and 10 being the worst tolerance steering box out there...people have everything from 1-10. SO for they guy with a 2-3 box...changing...
My vote would be for the 4.88s. They are actually a tad over geared for the 37s but with the added weight I think that's fair. I don't think you have much to gain to go up another step to the 5.13s. Of course...they will both work fine.
Fellow co-worker had his RAM truck in for service and they gave him a JL two door loaner. First thing in the morning he walks into my office and says "I got a loaner for my truck today at the dealership and they gave me a Wrangler." I say "Yeah, how do you like" his response "It was terrible...
Thoughts....curious as to why to spend all that cash for a lift and tires that will decrease on-road performance only to never take it off-road.
So...if it's the look you are going for and don't care about losing performance I don't see any problems with running 40s on the stock setup. Yep it's...
Almost seems they could create that beast by just putting a different body/bed tub onto the existing JL chassis. Would keep costs down to create another vehicle.
but damn I love those rims
I gave it a chance...and I think it really depends on where/how you drive as to if it's helpful or annoying. I don't drive in a lot of stop/go traffic. Much more rural. So when mine does kick in..it's for only a second or two at a stop sign. That can't be beneficial for anyone or anything. I do...
Funny, when I was on the site looking...I was thinking exactly the same thing....wonder if the upper arms are adjustable enough to work with only 2" of lift.
Any chance you have some better photos of what this looks like installed? The photo in the above link doesn't show it installed. Also for what amounts of lift is this good for with the stock track bar? Thanks!
Somehow a Jeep forum has gotten to this? WTF? Yep rice burner is a thing...and I don't care... and I'm a Dago Wop who's making fun of the Irish Mick over there for drinking too much beer. STOP IT PEOPLE. No one should care at ALL what people say about you. EVER. It's your damned first...
Waiting to see if the replaced steering boxes fix the problems...if it does... is FCA making a change to the new boxes so this doesn't keep happening? I'd like to see root cause of this whole thing. Bad tolerances, bad assembly...etc
After some further digging it seems a JL can be programmed by the dealer manually for the ID of the TPMS sensors. Assuming this would be the same for the JT. If rotating them doesn't help I guess that will be my next step. Thanks.
Of course in the mean time if anyone finds another process...
When I put the new wheels/tires on I got new OEM TPMS sensors. One of the new fronts picked up almost immediately and the other front picked up shortly after. It's now been a month with tons of driving and the rears are still not getting picked up by the computer. I stopped by the local tire...
Awesome feedback! You are the first one that I know of that has had this type of success. Based on your two quotes above I also wonder if there are varying degrees of "bad". Sounds to me like there is little repeat-ability in the making of these new boxes. I will gladly live with this and wait...
Southington is a great park for a weekend with the kids/family. I'm sure I'll be heading down with both Jeeps sometime next spring/summer when it's not snowing.
