What the second service department did is admirable and they deserve credit for breaking from the first dealer. There may be a bigger problem at the original dealer.

I would save the parts that are replaced and maybe even have the dealer box them up and send them to my attorney. That would give them a chance to think about it.

There is also storage temps range on the def. I don’t quite understand the reason for storage temps because in real world use it’s out of the range quite often once in the tank.
