yep… had to press it good. You need to start with the tire hard pressed and seated up against the hitch. Then really push the tire upwards against the track bar. The track bar is smoother than the hitch as the tire gets stuck on the jagged metal of the hitch which is why you start from that...
I’ll throw in my .02. Nitto Trail Grapplers 37s did NOT fit in the spare location at full air. I had to take it down to 20 psi on a stock JTR of which it barely fit. It pressed up hard between the hitch and the track bar. On a Metal Cloak Game Changer lift with their beefy track bar… the...
Around town you should be fine. I had 37s for a month waiting on my lift parts.
As for off road… if you disconnect your sway bars… look for major rubbing. I wouldn’t do too much off roading that requires articulation. That will be a challenge.
I just had one installed in May with Nitto Trail Grappler 37s. I love it. I did it for the same reason as you… too much rub on the bottom. My maiden voyage was the trifecta (Poison spider, Golden Spike, Goldbar Rim). It ran it like a champ. I did Fins N Things a week later and no rub...
I just put on a MC 3.5” GC. It rides nicer than stock. I got mine with the Rocksport shocks and it’s nice and smooth. The downside to MC is the rear track bar is so beefy, it’s tough to get my new 37” Nitto Trail Grappler spare underneath. It’s pressed hard up against the track bar and...
I would be happy to. Unfortunately, I am back in my Colorado home for the next 2 weeks and won't be back to Moab (where my Gladiator lives) until mid month. I can post them then.
In the mean time, my text locations of their locations are as follows:
The rear 2 are just in front of the hitch...
Just got Nitto Trail Grappler 37s on mine. It fits in the spare location just barely. It touches the track bar and hitch fully inflated. I was gonna drop it to 20-25 pressure to see if it’s easier.
Black Rhino Abrams on the very last 5 Nitto Trail Grappler 37" in the US thanks to @Discount Tire for hooking me up!
Had 2 people stop and look, and I went Mtn Biking at the Lunch Loops in Grand Junction. After biking, I returned and had a card from the Mesa County Sheriff telling me to call...
All great to know... thanks for the feedback.
Luckily Don from @Discount Tire was able to get the shop to find me 5 Nitto Trail Grapplers... so right now, I may be good to go. Thank you Don!
I have been trying like mad to get 37s on my JTR and nobody has them. I almost had Mickey Thompsons in my sausage fingers, but they got bought right out from under me just as I was closing the deal. Apparently everyone from Nitto to BFG to any of the other decent usual suspects are on national...
GEICO offers "mechanical breakdown" which if you have it for your vehicle, your chips are free and a new windshield is $50. I used that at least 2x per year.
I'm in CO too... the home of gravel for when it snows. I moved over to State Farm with a $0 deductible. I told the agent I am paying...
Man... I feel your pain. Had that in my Highlander and they did about $2K in EVAP damage due to chewing the wires. I left my JT out 1 night, and I had seeds and chewings on top of my battery.
Here is what I would do and it works great. Mouse bucket left next to your JT each night for about 2...
I have a set of 4 JT 2020 Rubicon Wheels + Factory Steel Spare + 5 Falken MT 33s + Lugnuts available in Moab, UT after 4/17/21. Wheels are in perfect condition and the tires only have 2600 miles on them.
I can meet in Grand Junction, CO the early afternoon of 4/17/21 if you want them there...
Right... which is the crux of my question. Will a full sized 37x12.5xR17 fit the spare steel factory wheel? I can always put the tire on the normal wheel while waiting for a new one.
I am currently about to get a Metal Cloak Game Changer 3.5" lift and 37x12.5xR17 Nitto Trail Grappler tires. I have my heart set on the XD 137 FMJs wheels. So I want to get onto ordering these but before doing so, I had questions about the spare.
I am really looking at a 4 wheel rotation and...
Yep... that's the look I want :-) 3.5" FTW ! Yes, my eye is on Ridge Grapplers as well. But my rig lives in Moab and I want maximum strength on the rubber, so I am leaning more towards Trail Grapplers. But those RGs are on back order too :( My rig will be used primarily for overland style...
