Since my RK kit was on backorder, I drove around on 37's on day 1 without a lift. I did have some rubbing in the fenders when doing some "mild" offroading. I refrained from doing anything really flexy until after the lift was on as I wasn't sure how far it would go before damage. It did much...
I went with the Rough Country hydraulic bump stops. I haven't had a chance to tune on them at all so they're just a tad bit harder than I would like. I need to soften them up just a bit but I need to get the Nitrogen recharge kit with gauges to do that. I'll use the same kit with the shocks so...
No need for new driveshafts with this kit. If I decide to run 40's I may address the steering with hydrualic assist, and so far I'm good with the axle shafts. In my JKR I went through a number of axle shafts but I did much more aggressive rock crawling with it. It was also not new and I wasn't...
Thanks. Love the diamondback. This is my 3rd one. I had one on my Raptor and one on my Diesel truck. It doesn't seem to seal quite as good on the Gladiator as it did on my other trucks. Mostly because the plastic liner on top the JT bed edge seems to compress with any load. But it's plenty good...
I'm not the person you asked the question to but I have the same lift in mine and I also went for the full Pro-X No Limits Stage 1 kit. I wasn't real sure about the RK Shocks that come with the kit at first but I wanted the whole kit and glad I did. The shocks are excellent quality rebuildable...
It's snake oil... don't waste your money on a CAI. I always get a kick out of people adding up the numbers the aftermarket mfd's give you. New exhaust, +20 hp, high-flow cats, +10 hp, new CAI, +15... woot! That's 45 more hp right there! I've seen so many people crushed at the dyno after spending...
I don't have a diesel gladiator but I've owned and worked with quite a few diesel vehicles. A modern diesel engine should be just fine starting up in mild sub-zero temps. I can remember not having any issues until it got to around -15 then the batteries have a hard time supplying enough current...
I'm not really a fan of their suspensions but the bumps are basically just a shock. They do work like they're supposed to. Between these bump stops and the 4-link rear suspension from the RK Pro-X it's a pleasure to drive over some seriously lumpy terrain at speed.
The sandy area I picked has a...
I have the Rough Country hydraulic bump stops in mine on the front. They're a little bit of a love-hate relationship as far as I'm concerned. My lift is a 3" RK Pro-X No Limits Stage 1. I have roughly 3 inches of travel to bumps, then they provide an additional 3 inches of travel or so. But they...
Yeah, when I had the 37's put on my Jeep they told me they tried every which way they could and there was no way the tire would fit under the Jeep. This was an offroad shop. When I got home I found I was able to fit it just fine.
You mean 38's? 37's should already fit under there with only a few exceptions. I have a 37" Nitto Trail Grappler that runs pretty true to size that fit fine with the track bar before I removed it. Granted it was close, but still cleared it.
I don't mind at all. I can tell you that using the Diamondback HD lid and the Tarheel screwdriver antenna that I'm pretty close to a perfect 1:1 SWR on 20 meters which was much better than I could get from my JK. I am extremely happy with the HF performance of this setup.
Thank you. I did post some in my profile. I need to update those pics since I now have the lift in. I'm falling behind. I think this link should work: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/showcase/ham-radio-gladiator.493/
Guess I'm doing it wrong. I like to not air down, switch to 2WD high, lock the rear lockers, disable traction control and ABS, switch the auto trans to manual mode, and keep it near the rev limiter.
My best guess is that you have too many or not enough of the beads to achieve balance. I believe too many is worse than not enough. If they mounted the tires on the rim correctly, with the Mfg's "light" marking on the tire matching up with your valve stem (probably a yellow dot on the tire) then...
Definitely your tires are out of balance. Try find some place that handles a lot of big or offroad tires. I have found that some places that sell a lot of car tires lack the ability, experience, or maybe even equipment to balance really big tires.
And for the record, once you experience "death...
