I've got the RSE Rockslider powered steps. I love these things and they feel very solid to step on. I'm on 37's for the moment, and have a 3" RKS ProX lift that I'm still waiting on so they'll become a lot more appreciated once the lift is on. They're kind of pricey but they seem to be of very...
That's the one that I installed. The radio is under the rear seat, and the mic is mounted overhead on a JCROffroad molle panel, along with a speaker. The mic attaches to the radio with a standard RJ45 so I just used a regular CAT6 Network cable to extend the mic to my desired location. Seems to...
Quick update on using the Diamondback cover for my antennas. Right now I'm loving it. Where the clamps for the tonneau cover clamp down under the lip of the bed, I used a wire wheel to clean away the bed liner so I have bare metal contact for all 4 of the clamps. This has given me a really good...
@Rock Krawler Suspension
RKS - Just curious, are you all starting to get caught up on your production or still have huge backlog? I had a 6-8 week ETA on the Pro-X Stage 1 lift and I'm about 5 weeks into it. Hopefully you all are doing well up there.
I personally wouldn't recommend using the AUX wiring unless you're using low-power high frequency radios. I'm in the process of wiring my HF 100 watt rig in and you have to make multiple decisions on it.
On mine the radio body resides under the rear seat with just the head unit up front. I ran...
That's awesome! I have talked all over the world from my Jeep. My wife, who is also a General class holder talks on it when we're driving up in the mountains if she gets bored. Great reception there... she's talked to South America and Australia. I've talked to people in Ukraine, Japan, and...
So, I think of it this way... if you drill the holes then decide that's not what you wanted to do, you can simply get a black-headed bolt and put in the hole and you'd never notice it, and it doesn't affect the integrity of the cover. If you screwed up big time, you could literally bring the...
For another reference, I had a custom mount made on the rear tire carrier on that JK and ran the longer mast screwdriver antenna from there. There are two UHF/VHF antennas on the back in addition to the HF, one for my main radio and I was also running APRS positioning. The front was a 102" whip...
I did in fact whack it once but it was my fault. I backed into the garage and forgot to remove the antennas. lol. The motorized mount was about 1/2 inch below cab height when all the way down. My JK in the background also had a screwdriver antenna mounted in the same fashion where when down it...
They're telling me that my Diamondback cover has shipped so I'm hoping that I'll receive it by this weekend and I can start working on it. For a reference, you can see how I had my HF screwdriver antenna and my UHF/VHF antennas mounted on my Diamondback cover on my new Raptor here. This worked...
Interesting conversation. I'm in the process of getting everything wired and installed the way I want in mine. The HAM radio is an all-band Icom and I'll be at a minimum of 100 watts transmit for HF. I've run 6 gauge wire from the battery to under the back seat in preparation for unit install...
Picked up mine a couple weeks ago (just now saw this thread). First thing I did was get some new 37" wheels on it the next day. I have more parts on order like the RKS 3" Pro-X Stage 1 lift, winch, etc. but apparently it's all on back order with about a 6 week wait. Traded in my 2019 JL Rubi for...
I have the Synergy one on order and I'm definitely going to add it as soon as it arrives. I'm running 37's now and maybe run 40's once these wear out. Someone posted a video of the steering box while turning the tires left and right and there is a surprising amount of deflection. Not a big deal...
If it wasn't that I wanted a JT, I might have skipped over it. I traded in a 2019 JL Rubicon for it and my JL did not have the issue. It was solid and tight on steering. This should be the exact same steering box in both. I knew how to fix it so I wasn't too concerned that it was loose on the JT...
Well first of all, if you're a mechanic then you know it's not "some random screw". And yes warranty replacement is definitely the first choice until you're told "that's just the way Jeeps are". Do what you can to get the steering box replaced to fix the problem under warranty. I've owned and...
I went through all this with my Gladiator and I like to read and research the issues thoroughly to understand the problem before I do anything. I've also read through this entire thread of all the speculations about tire pressure, and people just not used to solid axle vehicles, and programming...
Wheel selection was really tough. I settled on the XD 137 FMJ rims and 37" Trail grapplers. Lift and other parts are all on back order so this is with no lift. But the electric rockslider steps are on.
I was able to find some useful information from a thread here about drain plugs, and a video of someone taking apart a wrecked JT. It looks like I could probably use the drain plug directly under the storage box as an exit point from the cab, and thread the wires between the cab and bed back up...
Ok, I've searched for threads on this and can't find any so I'm posting the question... Has anyone done any wiring or cables from the Gladiator rear cab area into the bed?
I will have a number of cables (power, communication, transmission) cables that I need to run from inside the cab directly...
